What about Psytrance? Like the Full-Power and Dark styles? The bass can be pretty hard-hitting.

IMHO thats not actually hard at all. Beyond the speed, it has really nothing thats hard.

My immature mind takes this all to the wrong place.

Faster isn't always harder.

It's just fast not hard.

....

Anyway, a lot of genre's try to act hard but are just fast (Like many have said before). Speeding up a track =/= hard, especially with kicks.

Also so much Hardstyle hate. I agree it doesn't have hard kicks, but I think it does a better job then speedcore.

Just because I hate speedcore.

Gabber is Hard but not the Kick Drums... Just the Speed! I would say if you want Bass, Robbie Long & Devastate (Devastate Cuts the Loudest and Dougal & Gammer are sorta copying it!)! I don't know why, HHC/Freeform is the Hardest to me, its just Cut Louder! I can see why you would go for Gabber, but really if you listen to the Bass Kicks, HHC is a lot harder than Gabber! I don't even buy Gabber/Hardstyle/Industrial/etc. because of the weak Kick Drum... Now if you're looking for Dark, Gabber is!

The Darkest Records that I buy, are Relentless Vinyl, Infexious Audio, and now just Hardcore Breaks (Which is kind of Cheesy), but Gabber/Industrial/etc. is everywhere, I'm just raving by myself! My style is Bounce or Oldskool, I know Gabber is popular, but I spin for other reasons!!! =)

Sorry but it sounded like you were trying to explain us that when music is played faster, that it's faster. WTF !

Anyway, I think Gabber isn't that hard, it's especially the bassline which is hard, but not the kicks. Let's take There 4 me ( DJ Kurt Remix ) - Michael Mansion : this track is harder than any gabber tune imo. And it's the kick which is hard, not the bassline, and there's no distortion.

That extratone whatever is such garbage!

Anyway we can all agree Darren Styles makes the hardest core, just listen to Toytown and Neckbreaker what tracks! Definitely the best producer of '88 :]

Hahahaha!

I love extratone. A friend of mine is a producer, he makes Hybrid style breaks and some commercial house, but he has a great sense of humour and as he was playing one of his most recent tracks to us he said: "... and now for the live Extratone remix!"

He sped it up to 1000bpm (or something shitful,) and randomly created tiny loops from the noise. It was funny as hell, and it sounded exactly like extratone.

^_^

Probably the hardest stuff i have come across is early Passenger of Shit stuff.. Hes an extreme speedcore/epic weirdo (no offence intended) from Sydney.. He is a painter too and decorates his studio with penis mutiliation art.

The stuff he does is speedcore and breakcore, which is some of the craziest , hardest breakcore ive ever heard. Along with ear piercing Screaming (much more noticable in early releases)..

Check out his myspace or him on youtube, crazy stuff!
