Wilky's getting owned again, is he?
looking at these posts he's losing his head!
Wilky's quite easy to argue with. Since he's reasonably simple and can't think of a response without it being offensive or threatening, you can outsmart him reasonably easily. I should know since I'm still awaiting his reply on facebook :P
Welcome to the forums RopeNL and welcome to the genre.
I find that vocal hardcore can be very samey. There can often be a lack of uniqueness or individuality amongst it and it can get boring. However, I suggest you keep listening because every so often there can be a track that throws you into a great mood and even through headphones offer a 'euphoric' feel.
There are various cults with hardcore. If you want samey vocals, go for a Clubland X-treme Harcore album. If you want the underground beats from the unheard heroes, check out HU3.
Oh and Wilky's a bit simple, best to ignore him. illiterates... :P

Cool. Starting to think about going to a UK rave one day:P. So this helps a lot, thanks.
Yeah well maybe I just pissed him of with my first topic title:P. I actully did that to draw some attention to this topic and get people to react after reading the actual content of the post. Though apperantly that had a reversed effect on wilky.

In general UK Hardcore and Dutch Hardcore don't have much in common. But there was a time, when both scenes merged (at least in parts). It was around 1995, when the typical Happy Hardcore sound came up. Although happy hardcore is an invention from the UK, it has also roots in Dutch Hardcore. To explain the situation, I give you a (extreme) short overview of the history of hardcore.
UK Hardcore
- it started around 1990 and was known as "Breakbeat Hardcore"
- most of the early tracks didnt't have kick drums, just breakbeats, fat basses and typical rave sounds (commercial examples: early Prodigy, N-Trance)
- it soon splitted up into Jungle/Drum & Bass and Happy Hardcore
- in 1995 some UK Happy Hardcore producers started to use a heavy distorted 4/4 kick drum (brought from the Netherlands to UK via Scottish producer Scott Brown)
- in the following years, the breakbeats were dropped and the music was influenced by trance, resulting into the current UK Hardcore and Freeform.
Dutch Hardcore
- it really started around 1992, although the German track "We have arrived" from 1990 already had the typical "Gabber sound"
- 99% of Dutch hardcore from 1992 to 2009 has a distorted 4/4 kick
- in 1994/1995 the Scottish producer Scott Brown brought the happier UK sound to the Netherlands via Paul Elstak, resulting in Happy Gabber (listen to Thunderdome 10 for example) and the cheesy Dutch Happy Hardcore (Wonderfull Days etc.)
- Dutch Hardcore lost its happiness again and became slower and harder, resulting in Newstyle, Hardstyle etc.
