I love the transitions between Breakbeat and UKH Tracks, I think the Breakbeat and the 4-Beat together just sound damn sexy !
There was a time ( back in the 90s ) when Happy Hardcore Tracks had a 4-Beat and a Breakbeat! I love these kind of tracks !
I think a simple 4-Beat can be boring sometimes, but a breakbeat in the background for example makes the track "more complicated", and the more complicated a track is, the better it is imo!
What ya think?

agreed, a 4/4 beat can get kinda boring if its a long track

some ukh tracks have really compicated hat combinations though and they do the same thing as a breakbeat but sound a lil bit cooler..
a good example is most of d&gs new stuff
that is hectic shizzle

Suicide ( A.M.S. Remix ) - DJ Kurt

4/4 Kick, Full Breakbeat or 4/4 Kick with Breakbeat is all good for me. I can't see UK Hardcore going back to its original sound with more breakbeats though.
I'm quite happy listening to Old Skool and Hardcore Breaks where both breakbeat and 4/4 Kicks are common.

Yeah a bit! But that's more oldskoolish. Actually a good example would be DJ Mole's Mix Back In Your Garden! ( which you can download from here ), when the second track is mixed in the first one! I love the transition, Breakbeat vs. 4-Beat
I like it when the breakbeats have "beats" too, not only claps, hi-hats and stuff like that like in Jackol's song. With 4-Beat it sounds like you have 3-4 different Beats one after another, they're so close to each other that you could think the speed is like 340 BPM, but the 'main beat' still gives you a feeling of how fast it is in reality! Dunno how to explain, you must just listen!
Btw the mix is sick, highly recommended for download!

Kickdrums + breakbeats =
Tunes with both in used to be ten a penny...If you look around you'll still find the odd track but there aren't that many.
Definitely agree about mixing between breaks into kicks or vice-versa - if you've got the right two tracks the results can be amazing! Try and get hold of an old mix by Ian H called 'Breaking point'. The transition from Scott Brown - 'Rock you softly' remix into CLSM - 'Roof on fire' shows just how good it can be (IMO of course ).
Thing is, I don't think there are many breakbeat tracks that can keep their head above water when played next to a kickdrum track. As good as they are (and I LOVE my breaks) a lot of them just don't seem to keep the energy. 'Roof on fire' is the strongest track I can think of, and Darwin - 'Takes you back' is another strong track which still has small 4/4 sections in it to keep things moving along nicely and keep everyone happy. Neither of which should cause any problems if dropped into a set full of kickdrums!
I personally would love it if prominent breakbeats came back in 4/4 tunes. Some producers have brought back the big kicks (woo!) into their productions and it would be nice if tunes with both kicks and breakbeats made a return. Not holding my breath though, and I really can't see the top tier doing this.

I recall Al storm being someone who would switch from break to 4/4. bonkers 17 remix of do it like we do was the first time i really noticed it tbh.
But i do agree, its a great bit of variety. I need more practice with doing breaks tbh instead of using obscure loops in Fruity :P
theres a FL Plugin that allows for breaks, but how to use it beyond me, when i get time ill ask fishy to teach me xD :P
