I find topics like this interesting.
Why must there be other life out somewhere in space? There is really no reason why there must be. There may be reasons why there may be, but nothing definite says there is. In fact there may be more reason to say there can't be than to say there can be. (Note: havnt highly researched this, but iv heard good arguments for and against. you havnt thoroughly researched this either, so you cant refute this - if im bored sometime il try and find links for and against). You could probably make better estimates of the drake equation by using a random number generator.
Whats saying that other species aren't more advanced than ours? Out of the (roughly) 1.5 million species we know of, none are more advanced than ours. There are estimates of the total no of species on earth (only slightly more convincing than the drake equation) of between 3-30 million. None of those have been noticed to try and give us the heave ho as far as advancement goes. Humans are actually quite an advanced species. No other species can think anywhere near as thoroughly as we can, even though they have had the same amount of time to "evolve" ( assuming such concept exists). So if there are other species out there (thats the first criteria) than chances are they are a lot less advanced then we are.
God. There is nothing to say he existed. Hmm, wont really go into that. other than: Research suggests that the bible is actually quite accurate, historically. Various sources i have read seem to confirm different parts of the bible. The was almost without doubt a bloke called jesus who may have even been crucified. In terms of resurrection, only a few texts not included in the bible seem to agree with this. Anyway my point is that the bible isnt really the work of fantasy most people like to believe it is, it is actually quite historically viable
Note: Sort of playing devil's advocate here - but only sort of; you cannot deny my arguments. Arguments are based on some, but not extensive, research, and I dont have a bunch of references at my fingertips to back me up. References wanted will take a lot of time that i dont really have. However, none of the posts in this thread really have any detailed research put into them, other than "i think this because it makes me feel better about myself".
Just incredible, Im not having a go at you, i just picked your post out of a handful to reply to. 
good post....things like this need to be discussed i find it fascinating that people dismiss things because they sound silly or dont fit into what we currently know/understand i think its ignorrent to think that because we have not found it yet it's not there,im not saying everyone should believe but the trend of today people seem to have to laugh at god/ghosts/paranormal/alliens etc is bloody mad imo and if you spend time and really look into things theres not so much 'absence of evidence' as everyone would have you believe.
