I've seen this all before, I doubt it'll die. This happens every few years or so and it always comes back.

However, with Hardcore sounding more and more mainstream maybe it'll get a wider and wider audience and so get stronger than ever, who knows?

I know this will be controversial but part of me hopes that the music does go down the toilet so that WHEN it regenerates it comes back with its own UNIQUE sound again.

Maybe unique style would have been a better word. But hardcore of old was unique, and still sounds unique today

Errr, Hardcore today sounds like electro. Even the underground stuff. Freeform and the died-in-the-arse hardscape movement sounded like trance. Hardly unique. If by unique style you mean its the same but faster, then yes, it has its own unique style.

Maybe d'n'b is the future.

Definately agree. Theres still some potential for epicness in freeform, but the standard sound is just getting tired out imo. needs a good sleep and proper rejuvenation.

hell f*cking no!!!! if anything, electro sounds like hardcore. but that's not true either!

i don't know what you consider electro, but the electro here in the US sounds nothing like hardcore! fidget maybe a little but even then, these 2 are really new genres of edm and were developed from house. hardcore has been around for awhile and if anything hardcore is sounding a little dnb, but not because it's completely changing but because it's incorporating some of the elements of dnb, and it works

any particular song that makes hardcore sound like electro?

This has got to be one of the funniest threads posted here in a while. I don't check these boards as frequently as I used to, but everytime I come back, it's the same old drama. I don't hear as much whining about the music than with hardcore fans. House, trance, techno, jungle fans, they are all content with their scenes (for the most part), but for some reason, so many hardcore fans are becoming jaded, and I think I'm starting to become a little jaded myself. Lets face it everyone, the music is going nowhere, fast.
