No Alonso is what happened, they play shite without him. God help them when Torres or Gerrard gets injured.

Alonso hurt us, no denying that. back 4 do look sloppy, although on paper the potential is there to be up with the best as a unit...F UCKING INTERNATIONAL DUTY taking out steve-e-G and Torres. i just hope we scrape through today tbh.

although as for the league i still dont think its over. Top 4 are no longer completely set in stone, and by next year the line will be even more blurred. the 4 clubs will drop more points to villa, spurs, and city, not to mention other random teams e.g. Wigian. oh and another example Villa over Chelsea in the 90th about now, so (please god dont have me junx it) thats just showing how much tighter it is this year. not to mention city woud have tied united were it not for former liverpool man owen's heroics in the 97th. i could so analyze lol.
also im so tired of hearing about how we only lost 2 last year...our problem wasnt LOOSING it was TIEING.

but yes...somethin is off.....hope the team can turn it around
oh and chelsea DO loose to villa 2-1 thats fantastic for Liverpool

Darren Bent + Ballon = Sunderland 1-0 Liverpool

Ive got Bent in my dream team in the Sun :)

Liverpool are similar to Arsenal.....they are going backwards, give it a couple years and top 3 will be Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City.

4th will be a scrap between Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham

When Wenger goes and Fabregas goes back to Spain they will not be the same team.

Arsenal just dont have the money to keep up, they can afford one player costing around £10 million per transfer window, its not enough imo.

I dont know where their goals come from because apart from Van Persie, their frontline is gash

To be fair to the red shite they can hardly complain about being scored on by Sunderland's new star player.

At the moment arsenal are the only "big 4" team that you can put a bet on! Utd, chelsea and liverpool are playing shite! I tipped arsenal to win it this year and so far havn't changed my mind!

Wenger will be there for a long time yet as will Fabregas, even if Fabregas goes he's replaceable anyway. When we played without him last season we won every game if I remember correctly and we had I think a 17 game unbeaten run and that was without Fabregas.
As for money Wenger said that there is only 3 players he couldn't afford, those players being most likely Messi, Ronaldo & Ribery.
And how the hell can you say the frontline is gash? I'd take Arshavin, Van Persie, Rosicky, Eduardo, Nasri & Walcott over Torres & Kuyt anyday.

Losing Alonso has hurt Liverpool badly. People go on about gerrard and Torres, but Alonso was the player that made things happen. It was his fantastic link up play that created most of Liverpool's chances.

Mascherano is noticeably less effective without Alonso along side him. Mascherano can't do all that much apart from tackle. He'd then give the ball to Alonso, who was probably the finest passer of the ball in the Premiership. Mascherano no has to play alongside the hapless Lucas, leaving him to attempt passes that he is incapable of playing.

Aquilani can't get fit soon enough.
