and i would rather pay $100+ for a wii, then $250 for a 360 that will rrod, or $300+ for a ps3 that ive never play a game on
I never said that it didn't have a couple of good titles, I own a a lot games for it, and the only ones I enjoyed was the ones that allowed you to put in a Gamecube controller to play. (Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. Brawl)
Not one game I've played made me think 'wow this is game amazing', or made me want to come back to it to play it again, they all get boring and samey.
I will admit the new Metroid looks pretty good but I played the others on the Gamecuce and could never really get into it, I could tell it was a fantastic game, but it just wasn't my type of game.
I have a 360 too and also a PS3, and, in MY opinion the PS3 wins hands down.

But don't expect to run a good card with that power supply, you need to upgrade it.
2GB is standard now, you have 32bit or 64bit? Get another gig if you can, if you have 64bit get another 2. I really don't recommend anything higher then 6GB, as then you're just REALLY wasting memory, and it just gets useless.
well im updating to 7 soon, so i think 64 ima go
any recommendation on the video card?

Any specific games you'd be running?
Also, would there be any chance of dual booting with Linux? Can help factor in some cards I could choose from.

Depending on your price range, you could get this.
I can NOT bother telling you to get an ATI card when they have no drivers that support Linux. As well, I can't tell you to spend another $60-70 either on NVIDIA cards.
I say get the card to get your computer up to speed, then upgrade when you can after Direct x11 comes out, and when NVIDIA puts out a card that supports it. Wait a few months after Direct x11 comes out to get a cheaper card.

No one can say what Direct x11 will truly unlock.
But most I've seen actually allows it for better graphics manipulation, and all of that jazz. I'm honestly too tired to get into it.
Once games come out in the future after it releases it will truly be unlocked, and showcased. Until then we can't really say when there are no games for it.
I say if you're really not worried about distant games, and upgrading for them, get a Radeon HD 4670 and you'll run everything you want to at great rates. It uses very low power (Only needs power from PCI-E slot, which is great), and has a great heat-sink, and will keep cool during hard times.

Now, many different brands make the Radeon HD 4670; they're all the same power, natively, but the different "remakes" of it between each brand adds something of their own to it.
I recommend the one I linked because of the fan on it. It'll keep it cool under times of stress, and no other power supply connectors have to be attached. Win all around.

This is truth. Upgrading a laptop isn't impossible, but it's going to be a pain in the ass. Overall if you're going to get a laptop that is about as powerful as a Desktop you're going to get some 10+ pounds of plastic that can only run for 2 hours before dying, for about over $2000 more then a even more powerful Desktop.
