Yeah and exactly that's the reason why I don't agree with Trimms. Nothing to do with being ashamed …

I think I'll use one for Drum & Bass/Breakbeat Hardcore and one for House/Trance :)
That's fine I guess.

Could also add a bit of excitement though. Rather than:

Guy 1: "hey, i've got Darren Styles* new tune, you wanna listen?"
Guy 2: "Nope, i already know it before i've heard it"
Guy 1: "OMG you can't say that about Styles!!!"

It could instead be:

Guy 1: "hey, i've got that new *insert multi-genre-spanning producer name here* tune, you wanna listen?"
Guy 2: "Dam right, you never know what they're going to do next. I love their tunes, gizzit here!!!"
Guy 1: "Ok"

Seen?

* That's not really a dig at Styles. It could be any artist of any genre that produces one kind of music, he's just the first name that springs to mind with stuff like this.

I see what you mean Meathead, that's cool yeah, but you know how most people are today … most of the people who listen to Hardcore don't like House, and those who listen to House don't like Hardcore. So it would be a ****ing mess! And it would be better to split it :\

Yes but again, that's you. Most of my friends also listen to everything, House, DnB, Hardcore,.. but most of the people out there would be annoyed to check each time what genre this new song/set is, and even more if they don't like that genre.

Nah, as I said I'll split it in one name for Drum & Bass/Breaks, and one for House/Handsup :)

i never said to go under one name...i just said i listen to more than one genre.

there are plenty of artists out there that do a ton of genres under just one name

look at BT for instance

then there are plenty more who do under more than one name..either way im not loosing any sleep over it.

You really don't give people enough credit. I'd say the majority of people on this board and every other forum i frequent (of which there are quite a few lol) listen to plenty of different styles of music. As for them being annoyed by having to check what genre it is - seriously do people actually care about that? I love it when i hear artists doing different styles. The first time i heard Chase & Status make Dubstep i fell in love.

Almost everyone who listens to DnB also listens to Dubstep, that's like the difference between Hardcore and Gabber, or Hard Trance and Hardstyle, except that the speed is different.

However there are whole worlds between House and Hardcore. It's two completely different things.

And when I get booked I don't want genres to be mixed, people would be confused.

Not at all. Check out the forums for both genres. A LOT of D&B producers/listeners think Dubstep is boring and annoying whereas most Dubstep producers/listeners feel D&B is tired and a bit of a joke. But anyway we're going a bit off topic here. I think the debate has sort of been settled - do what the hell you want. It is your name, there's pros and cons like with most things but no one's gonna lose sleep over it :)
