"Game" seems to be our biggest video game retailer over here - they are a bunch of rip off merchants - no wonder people use the internet over stores now (and not their website - im talking amazon, ebay!)

unless I have a gift card or buy a game used...prefer to buy all my games online. find much better deals and don't have to go anywhere.
have some nice people at both my local gamestops and one of my best friends works part time at a used video game store. so yeah I get treated pretty well, just hate knowing more than the sales associates =P

I've worked at Gamestop and Best Buy, and have gone to Gamecrazy a few times.
Overall, the experience is really varied. You can't really base it on the franchise, but who is working there, and who you have to talk too. I've gotten into conversations with employees, and customers alike, on games that lasted half an hour to an hour.
I like being able to trade in my games, and honestly pre-ordering is just nice. I don't have to worry if I'll have the money in the future if I already paid for it and it'll be there for me to pick up.
But, don't get me wrong, there's been employees I just couldn't STAND. One guy tried to actually talk me out of getting WoW: Lich King saying it was ruining the game (I quite WoW last year in June so it doesn't matter anymore) and I had to talk to the manager, who is someone I knew fairly well, to ring me up instead of him.
Same thing when I was trading in my PS2 to get a original PS3 60GB, the salesman at Gamestop, one I will never go back too if he works there, tried to stop me from buying it and get a 360. I ended up telling him to take his opinions else where, and just do his job.
He actually tried to tell me the 360 was more powerful, and if anyone knows the tech inside a PS3, it isn't. At all.

lol i think he had some sort of vendetta against sony or something. but u gotta b a complete moron to think that 360 is more powerful than ps3. and yea i think these associates act this way b/c they feel they're at the exact lvl of the customer, which they are but they are still a sales associate and are supposed 2 make sales 4 the store. maybe the store is seeing lower sales in 360 and has told the associates that they need to boost the sales in 360s, i don't know. but still they were pretty unprofessional.

http://www.guruht.com/2008/03/ps3-vs-xbox360-gpu-performance.html PS3 is still the better choice imo, it's sexy, plays Blu-ray, free online, and has cooler exclusives anyone played the Heavy Rain demo?

"by leveraging cutting-edge hardware, software, and serviceswill outperform the PlayStation 3." Which none do, because I haven't seen one game on the 360 on a HDTV that looked better compared to a PS3 currently. I'm still skeptical on how they got those results, it's hard to throughly benchmark a console, and my searches before not only for it, and how to do it, have come up blank with the same questions.

I lkierz teh freesixy oervs A plreysshitszstaionsz.....
Every console has there ups and downs, you can say bad and good things about almost every console made, or that will be made.
Like the ps3 has the built in blu ray, but the 360 plays dvds better.
Just the same goes for a psp and a ds.
Or a wii and a 360
i can go on and on
And to this thing
quote:
Which none do, because I haven't seen one game on the 360 on a HDTV that looked better compared to a PS3 currently.
Its cuz the makers of the game dont have time to change things for the 2 different consoles, if you take a game that is solely for the 360 or the ps3 youll see a difference between each console. And also remember the systems arent even push to their full power while playing games, they weren't made for that.
Also when a game is made the makers dont want one version of the game to look better than the other (or as much as they can help) I think i read somewhere that when they make a cross-console game they start with the ps3 cuz its the hardest one to code, then they port it out to the other consoles, I might be wrong but thats what i saw.
Well the only place i have around my area is a game stop and eb games (ran by gamestop), and pawn shops, I always try to get used games, and trade in old ones.. i dont find the point of new games for m y systems, i wont keep them for ever lol. And like 1andonly said, it just depends on the person working, and if someone told me that whole one is better then the other i would just tell them to stfu, but our gamestop is kinda steep... well on most games
