Once again you have echoed my EXACT thoughts. It's all so god awful, it's bad enough that i already hate the Electro sound, but now pretty much every genre incorporates it. It makes me sick.

Most of the non-EDM music I listen to is from either Finland or Australia. Finland has the best ****ing music ever if you listen to rock... Nightwish, Children of Bodom, Sonata Arctica, the list is practically infinite O.O

Are you too looking toward the pop charts for your good, new music? If so i think there lies our problem. I agree with most pop music being god awful now (look what they did to hip hop ffs!), but we all know the charts aren't the place to look for great music.
If you've seen in another thread the track i posted recently by Nas and Damian Marley, which is getting a lot of air-time on Radio1 suprisingly, which is a good example of new Hip Hop breaking away from that autotune-electro, monstrosity. hhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyY70LE2D-Y&feature=related
ujust a few examples of new music i'm liking just now, not everyones cup of tea maybe but my point is there is good music out there and you both should know it. You should also know it osn't going to fall upon your lap whilst sat listening to the Radio1 breakfast show.

Don't be so obtuse ;)
My issue is I don' have the time to a) find the music I like and b) listen to it once found. My favourite style of music is the alternative rock (along with all the other forms of rock/punk) that was produced in the 90's and early 00's. The style of music has faded. Will occasionally here some similar stuff I like in a pub - usually a small local or unsigned band - but rarely does music that is heard in a pub sound sound anywhere near as good on a recording, which is a crying shame.
While on the topic of favourite songs, this is one of my top and as an added bonus its by local boys
and just for good measure
Hell, I'm just going to settle on 90's rock without specification. Yeh, the 90's ruled.

bumping this, I had another listen to reanimation by linkin park today. It is without a doubt one of the best albums I have ever listened to, and probably the best concept album I have heard. (No i don't count prog albums as concept - thats just what they do).
