I'm pretty new to both this site and DJing altogether.
I made this profile about a year ago while i was in school but soon forgot about it. Now I'm back in the loop and happy to be around other loving fans of hardcore.
So I thought about asking a question that has always been on my mind, which is if there are ANY other hardcore fans in the Midwest or am i the only one? I live right near Chicago and I have never seen even a drop of the hardcore pool here. no parties, no DJs, no fans, nothing. so I was wondering if i was the only one.
Other then that I would be very happy to engage in casual conversation =).

I don't live up there, I live a good while down, around siuc if you know where that college is at.
Gosh that doesn't sound right...... I live down in souther illinois. But the hardcore is lacking in the states, the closest thing around here is a pud that has some "dance" dj who plays decent dace remix's of pop/rap songs.
So is it that shitty up there, I heard chicago had a decent scene as well as st.louis.
Sorry if i'm not making sense, its really early and i should be in bed lol

I go to school in Chicago and live at home near Kansas City over the summer. Chicago has a pretty big drum n bass scene, and its practically San Fransisco around anime season, if you're looking for raving to be done in Chicago you just missed acen, which is a huge event (Silver, our beloved site owner, played there this year.)
Other than the anime people nobody seems to listen to hardcore though, I try to throw it in when I DJ stupid frat parties, but everyone just wants to hear the same 3 songs from the top 40 list over and over again. If you get into Chicago very often... 3 other DJs and I were planning on trying to have events on my campus (Illinois Tech) when I get back to school next year; we already got cleared to have a full rave in the bar sometime in the fall. Leto lives in Chicago at UIC (I think it is) and Tweakn lives just south of the city in the burbs, they're both pretty active on the forums.

Because it just doesn't exist and its ****ing annoying lol. That's why I started posting here, that first party where I tried to play happy hardcore and faceplanted as a DJ. Though ironically I listened to the radio for years then I started posting and stopped listening...

it does exist, Scott Brown played Bloomington whilst i lived in IL
maybe you faceplanted as a DJ because you're used to using Virtual turntables and not real equipment? :P

I remember seeing that somewhere on the internet. I felt so very bad that I missed such a great event.
also, a ton of my friends go to acen and come back telling me about the rave. I always thought it sounded sub-par. I guess now i will have to re-think that.
