Jessie, just a hardcore Dj wont get you known here in the states, maybe if you did dub, gabber, or rap/pop, then got out there and put more edm in there, maybe you could be a "known" Dj in the states, but not for just dance alone. It's sad, but its the truth. If you want to just do dance, you'll need to move to the south west, that is the bigger area for dance raves, but in the mid states, no.

Just try to get yourself out there.

Wrong Delerium there buddy!

Wow. These were some of the originators of the hardsound. A few of these katz were in it back when the harder sounds were hardcore breaks, us hard house, and us hard tech

In the years to come I'm going to be moving somewhere more bent on hardcore whether it is in the states or not.

Thank you for the advice.

as far as uk hardcore, the simple answer is no. the popular 'hardcore' djs here all play hardcore techno/gabber/hard techno.

the popular 'happy' hardcore djs in the US either retired, moved on to a different genre, or got into money issues and went into hiding.

and ponder is british =P

People you'll see in the US:

Luna-C
Milo
No Left Turn
Reese
Auratika
Trigga Happy
Jimni Cricket
Starkiss
Rukkus
Da Lollipop Kids
Gobz the Zombie
Tranzit
Virus
Cat Like Thief
Donald Whan
Dupont
Venom
Happy Daze
Sylus

Why people think we don't have a scene is beyond me. Just because there are no celebrity producers doesn't mean there aren't plenty of incredible DJ's and raves.

Yepp. All used vinyl for a dollar and usually like 10% off all other vinyl. Also, check google maps sometimes... They put printable coupons in the links. It's been one of my fave shoppes since I was 15.

Just because something hasn't been done, doesn't mean it cant be done.

America is a very big country, and its structure is such that dance music in general has never really caught on. Hardcore blows up for a little while in various places, then fades out and blows up somewhere else. It may not always be that way, but thats how it has been for a number of years.

I think its missing the point if your desire is to be a "big name dj". But if your desire is to make great music or encourage a scene, that can be done from anywhere in the world.
