because a lot of ppl in other countries will think of stuff like Angerfist, Endymion & Tommyknocker when you say hardcore. That's how it is in the US, and here in the US amongst the ravers most of them call UK hardcore Happy Hardcore, regardless of its lack of similarity to late 90s early 00s happy hardcore

doesn't The Producer mostly produce Hardstyle now? UK Hardcore is Hardstyle in europe? =P
The British people let to of the name Hardcore for Happy Hardcore, thus I don't think Brits should call their post-2002 stuff for just Hardcore, like some have already pointed out, it will just make it confusing for everyone else.
Even tho some American and Australian producers aren't Brits, if their music resembles British Hardcore, I will label it UK Hardcore

Anyways Millimo: You'll miss out lots of good mixes because they are missing the specific genre name in the title. I tend to not do that, since I always strive to mix different kind of Techno into one set. Be it Happy Hardcore, 'UK' Hardcore, Freeform, Gabber, Makina and 'J-core', you might find them in any of my mixes :P

By the way, Welcome to the forum fellow danish :)

Realisticly would say happy died 2003, as we still had jellybaby and raverbaby songs and releases in old style.
While that lead to the boom in labels like evolution

because we're all awkward.

Tbh, UK Hardcore I think as a name is far too generic.

There are far more styles and sub genres than are actually mentioned...

considering alot of countries make music they call Hardcore (heck even Hardcore's used on Rock/Punk and Hip Hop music), I'd say Hardcore is even more generic. Until last year I kept calling dutch hardcore for Rotterdam Hardcore. Heck I still can't divide from Gabber and Frenchore, both sound equally quick.

Hardstyle? The Producer has never made a Hardstyle track as far as I'm aware and barely any Hardstyle at all comes out of the UK these days. In my experience everyone I've spoken to from Holland, France etc. calls stuff my guys like Producer UK Hardcore.

This is The DJ Producer - http://www.myspace.com/thedjproducer Perhaps you're thinking of someone else?

Yeah, I agree. Solo "Hardcore" term usually refers to Gabber.

But many people still call UK Hardcore Happy Hardcore. I dont think it's wrong cuz UK Hardcore actually is modern and more powerful Happy Hardcore. I think its more specific than only "Hardcore", but I like callin it UK Hardcore.
That's also 1 of the ways of differing HHC and UKHC cuz not all HHC have breakbeats. I know it from a sample track from Wikipedia.

Oh, and UK Hardcore is just name of a genre. Cuz it comes from the UK. It doesnt mean other countries cant make UKHC though.
Like me, I make UK Hardcore and Im from Croatia. Right now Im remixing CROATIAN song in UKHC style xD.

BTW, IMO, Freeform could also be a sort of HHC. Like trancy HHC.

P.S. About vocals and rapping, it hardcore to be said only "Hardcore". IMO only in rare occasions "UK Hardcore" or "Happy Hardcore" sound good xD.

i think he meant to say that's when evolution was at its most popular due to its massive amounts of tracks being released at that time, especially since scott brown had to create the sister label evolution plus for the abundance of tracks

that would collide with the stuff that's generally associated with old hardcore/jungle

Personally I call the nu school happier stuff vocal (and yes I know it doesn't ALL have singing in it). People tend to know what I mean when I call it that.

Uk hardcore is such a wank name. No offence to brits but it's just a wank name.

I don't know why people are clinging to the name. I will never introduce myself as a UK hardcore producer. And if anybody else did, i'd correct them.

The UK does not own the genre, and it's pretty offensive to all of us who aren't brits.
