I made this topic because many people hate UK Hardcore as name.
Personally, I like the name, but I'm aware of confusions it can cause. Like, many people who hear that I make UK Hardcore think I'm British (UK), unless if I explain it 2 them.
As for calling it "Happy Hardcore" or "Hardcore", these names are not really specific.
Now I'll say why every of these names could be wrong.
1. "UK Hardcore"
- The "UK" here makes confusion amongst the people. People who don't know about it think UK HC has to be made in the UK. And many people find it discriminating for other countries.
2. "Happy Hardcore" (the way most of the people call UK HC)
- Not specific because it makes people mix it up with real Happy Hardcore.
- Most of the people (as I know from YouTube) don't even know what real Happy Hardcore is.
3. "Hardcore"
- In official it refers to Gabber.
- Even less specific than Happy Hardcore because it can also refer to many other Hardcore genres
NOTE: Despite these things, it's the best name to be used in song or rap lyrics.
Since UK Hardcore is the only specific here, many People hate it, I think it has to be changed.
New name should be made according to the attributes or history of the music.
After all, we are the most famous Hardcore site in the world! Here u can find everyone, from amateurs to pros!
And promoting the name will be very easy. Several people should just spread the new name in areas/sites where they're popular enough (in some way) and where that kind of topic is acceptable (I will, on YouTube). It will take a while but it'll work.
So put your ideas on the table!
(Please, do not post negative posts)

Vocal Hardcore if it is a vocal tune. You have 'Vocal House' and even vocal DnB am I right?
Commercial Hardcore, well we all know what that is (Clubland Extreme Hardcore/ Raverbaby ect)
Freeform can stay Freefrom
Old Skool Freeform for early 2000s Freeform
and 'Neo Old Skool' for new Hardcore that sounds like Old Skool

I like this argument, but it still doesn't give the new name to UK Hardcore.
But it makes new-name-UKHardcore have subgenres so theyre good point.
Vocal Hardcore could be any sort of Hardcore with vocals.
We could add it to our the name if the song includes vocals (like Vocal Blahblah-Hardcore xD).
Commercial Hardcore IMO can still be any sort of Hardcore made for commercial purposes. And most modern Clubland Extreme Hardcore tracks are much affected by Euro-Trance (Hands-Up) so we could add "Euro-" to the new name for songs like that.
By 'Old Skool', do u mean Breakbeat Hardcore? If im right, we could call it both 'Neo Breakbeat Hardcore' and 'Neo Old Skool'.
If I'm wrong about Old Skool genre, tell me x).
But somewhere I heard a name for that already exists... Wikipedia I think.
A 4 'Old Skool Freeform', it sounds perfect if theres enough difference between that and modern Freeform.
(I don't have too much experiance with Freeform so I dunno if theres much difference)
Anyway, we can always use these attributes.

upfront hardcore from 2002 isn't upfront today so that name doesn't cling that well.

Sounds good 2 me.
I actually never heard about it b4 =).
I saw DJ Cotts uses the term "Upfront Happy Hardcore". Its more specific than just "Upfront Hardcore".

I feel 'Bollocks' would be a fitting name.

Upfront isn't a name though, it's just a word to describe that the Hardcore is new. I find it really odd that people use the word as if it describes anything about the style of the music. So yes, like, like whispering said, it's only valid for right now.

There's a few Pixies that make Hardcore. I'm sure they would take offence to that.
