Tbh, Ati has been one of the few cards I have had that dont burn up or just **** up. Nvidia's for some reason when I OC them they stop working properly.
Then with Ati, OC them, they work like a champ.

I figure a new Quad Core will give me that power now that Cubase has decent quad support? More RAM can never hurt too surely. :P That's getting used up as it's spilling over onto using the HD in big projects.
I'll look at the differences on 7 pro and home! Didn't realise pro might have extras worth having.
If you dont have enough power, get a new psu lol.
I could re-read this and help but alas, I'm to lazy to help.

In my experience anything better then dualcore is useless. My work computer has quadcore i7 processor and even programs that are supposed to support multi core processors, hardly ever use. Though my work computer has XP, which isnt that good with multi core. RAM is cheap as hell, you probably have the ability to upgrade just that?
But yea, might be you need a new PC. I myself usually take a few upgrades before buying a completely new one. Gives some extra time for your current system and saves a lot of money for more important things, like beer.

For me, if you give the GPU too much stuff, nVidia slows down, Ati completely crashes. Nice "feature" when you're playing online. Ati control center causes suicidal thoughts, and no ability to just add the essential drivers. Zero linux support. The screen flickers everytime you start the computer (small thing, but annoying).
