over what though? It's a vacuum out there...
The law of inertia applies to any object of any shape. An objects motion will not change unless acted on by some exterior force. What force is there that would change the earths rotation? that 2/5s of a flat disc is still more then enough. A ball of rock as large as the earth has a lot of mass to keep it spinning.

again, why? rarely will something be launched straight up, but typically at an angle to then go into orbit briefly. As long as the vehicle reaches orbit, why does it matter where on the moon it launches from? it doesn;t use any energy or fuel whatsoever to maintain the orbit.

You're giving off the idea that they can simply seatbelt themselves to the rocket and be fine. A rocket is nothing more than an engine, there's still the rest of the vehicle to be considered.
Yep, granted, so have it dock at a space station that is either orbitting the earth at a similar distance to the moon or is orbitting the moon. then a smaller shuttle can be used down to the surface.
Alternatively they could always build a runway. Might be tricky doing the landings though.

just noticed this. In that case why bother stopping at the moon at all? If you are just going to use the same amount of fuel again with one stop, better off without any and use half the fuel, and try and get as much speed as possible from the slingshot effect.

I think the ones that say moon is inhabited by some secret organization and theres highways on the dark side of the moon are ridiculous. At least on the denying side NASA has made it look plausible, like losing all the original video footage.
