I dont know if I'm glad they are out or not. This could cause allot of trouble.

I'm from the states, I think it should stay up, they are just getting butthurt because they cant a few files from leaking on the web, its their fault. But tbh I think they did on purpose just to act like the "big boys" of the world, like we always have tried to be.
But then again I really hate the states, but how hard is it to keep a flash drive safe, like come on guys. Even wilky can do that job....

Why? Most of the countries remain quite; probably because, they have lists with equal comments as well.

I think its deeper than that. The US show doubts about the UK, Germany, Pakistan, Iran, China and other countries. Allot of secrets blown, and I doubt that other nations will sit quiet just because they have similar secrets. thats not how it works

I mainly talked about the last publishing of Wikileaks: the charaktersation of foreign poiticians by US-diplomats.
The lurid publishing of secrets in Afghanistan and Iraq were totaly disappointing, due not really mentioning any unknown news (for all parties).

Wikileaks is an attention whore site.
While some of the things they post are good, in a fashion of what they show, but most are down right idiotic. For god sakes, they posted text messages from people inside the twin towers the day of 9-11. How, exactly, does that make their goal of "government transparency" happen? They do this shit for attention, and nothing else.
These cables show what exactly? Governments spy on each other? They try to urge another to attack a country because they don't like something they're doing? That governments talk shit about each other? This is nothing new, everyone knows this, and every government knows that other governments are looking over their shoulders to see what they do. China attacks other countries through hack attempts? No shit! One of the things they tell you when you join the Airforce for cyber security is your job is to protect the countries network integrity from "outside forces", i.e. every other god damn country.
These reports are nothing, to be bluntly honest, and won't cause anything but "Oh, lol, well I didn't mean that. We're still buds right?". Now, unless they uncover documents of Operation "Bomb the shit out of them" of the United States having a plan to invade China for the lawlz will there be a backlash. That, or posting the name and location of every unit in the 'War on Terror'. If they start releasing information on how the government, and other governments around the world, are ass raping their citizens will they be the least bit credible.
Either way, they're stupid and haven't released anything good except the video of the attack helicopter shooting at unarmed civilians. Besides that, the only good thing they've done is show how crappy of an organization they are.

onenonly: wtf are you on about?
And wikileaks is really more of a he than an organisation. It's almost funny to consider the ease in which he obtains information.
Anyway, one definitely good thing they released was the list of websites that the aus government was trying to blacklist and censor.
The paper today was saying that if he ever returns home there is a good chance he will be chucked in gaol for a decent cooling off period.

That wikileaks is a ******** organization. For everything useful they post, twenty useless releases come with it.
I like the newest release "Russia is a 'Mafia State'". The Russian government is corrupt after the fall of the Soviet Union? Well, that's news to me! /sarcasm

TheOneNOnly you have no idea what you're talking about. The information was leaked in it's entirely to selected media outlets, they're sifting through it and reporting whatever they like of it. Also, the idea that they're attention seeking is laughable, the only reason they have any sort of public presence or front man at all is because the media demands it, and Julian Assange was already a public figure so he had to do it, not to mention that no one else really wants to do it for fear of their life. Hell, the creator has to live a nomadic life because of it. Wikileaks is non-profit, it functions thanks to hundreds of volunteers and detonators, no one stands anything to gain from this so-called 'attention' but us. The people involved are not gaining, far from it, many have had to sacrifice a hell of a lot to make this happen. They're ****ing hero's.

Waiting for the leaks from Finland embassies. Hopefully will shed some light in past politician lies here, just in time for the next elections :)
Probably 95% of the cables could have been kept a secret without any difference. But IMHO politicians and governments are not some elitist groups. We need to know what they do, we pay their salaries.

was waiting for this topic ;)
I dont have a problem with them - though it does get a little edgey when they release documents that could have the names of inside people in them...but wikileaks do a hell of alot more than just the whole USA stuff the media keep reporting on.
i mean if it wasnt for wikileaks i would never have known about punternet.com/ wink wink LOL.
at the end of the day i still blame the media - the BBC act as though the only thing that gets released on there is against america and ignore everything else (but thats the BBC's anti-american stance for you).
heres what interests me the most - UFOs, Aliens and 9/11 + alllllll the other conspiracies - the millions of people who could have knowledge on this front have had the oppertunity to use wikileaks, there have been millions and millions of documents regarding US stuff, stuff that should have indicated something, anything, but yet............nothing - we just get beaurocratic drivel about Sarkozy chasing a rabbit around the office, and a few US diplomats who think that mugabai is a crazy old man.
could it be that they really are just conspiracies, and govenments arent really holding much back other than who is dieing where...the world isnt perhaps as deep as people might like to think it is..
