There most definitely is. It is incredibly irritating and it really does make you (certainly did for me) much less inclined to purchase it. As it turned out, I did purchase it - but that was down to the product - not your advertising techniques/visibility.
Karthy isn't suggesting doing no advertising whatsoever - obviously, that's a ridiculous notion - but scaling back slightly, I think, would be beneficial. I lost count of how many times I came on here, read "MUST BUY NOW!! TEN COPIES REMAINING!!" and thought, honestly, "Fcuking hell, is he still banging on about that?!". I think the style of advertising you go for doesn't help. Really forcing it on people, and claiming that there are only so many copies remaining - only to see a post two weeks later with the same number of copies left, or fractionally less.
I understand that you are probably going to be a little irritated after reading that - but it is absolutely not a personal dig. It is honest and well intentioned feedback, and I think people will almost unanimously agree with me. Just something to bare in mind for next time.
