Just listened to the CLSM Podcast, and it was mentioned about the younger names retiring and coming out of retirement for single events/gigs. K-Complex was mentioned alongside Stormtrooper as one of these. What's the deal? Has he retired?

Didn't he retire before Stormtrooper?

K-Complex retired. Then Stormtrooper did, then orbit1 (which he does hardstyle now), then Ham (well, he gone into DnB), then Kevin Energy & Sharkey...
Too many talented people are leaving the scene.

I havn't read any serious quotes of Kevin Energy talking about retiring. He's taking a break and I can't imagine he will remain calm, when Freeform will set off within the next few years.

Some new ones are joining though, huh? Like you for one. Love your stuff.
I've been thinking about where to take my music, and I cant find the love for the music Freeform expects.
Kein Energy exressed it as a state of mind, but too many people who support Freeform will too quickly dismiss other tracks that share the morals of Kevin Energy bu tlack the style that Freeformists want these days.
A melodic track will not be Freeform according to Freeform fans, even thought the genre was not defined on musical style but on mentality. Too many freeformist's these days quickly forget and dismiss this fact. Dyz and his Fauxform annoys me in particular. Defining tracks on how they sound excluding them from the Freeform genre as he feels. As a big voice on FreeformForum and in Munted, his opinion put me off somewhat.
But I'm not fussed. I produce what I produce. To this day the dioor is there to go walk out the door or through it. No one's pushing me out that door, let's make that certain Im here to stay. Hear?

IF they dont like melody in freeform, they can get back to listening to hard dance instead

K-Complex stopped engineering about 4 years ago to run www.dancemidisamples.com.
Archefluxx - don't let anyone put you off writing what you want. As I've said before, just produce what you feel like and let others worry about the pigeon holing :) If you look through most the NEC/HBC podcasts, we all play a mish-mash off styles, on the radio and in raves.
I'm not sure why people wouldn't call Freeform 'Freeform' due to there being melodic presence.
I personnaly think that melodic Freeform is great. If you go back to Trancecore sounds the tracks are extremely melodic. Freeform means anything goes so in my opinion peolple should be as experimental as possible.
