I'm pretty sure he didn't, and the same goes for several others as well (such as Bang Like A Mother). Plus, since he cancelled his website project I doubt they'll ever see daylight.

He threw a major tantrum about filesharing and canceled his album and stopped releasing.

He's a great producer, but a bit of a douche.

What he said. I'm not sure why I thought it was a website.

ahh great, its always filesharing!

shame really if he thought about it he could of just gone the same route as rebuild and just release limited copies, thumpas never had a problem with filesharing as far as i know..

he could of done bloody well i reckon if he actually did that, big whoop if a couple of tunes got uploaded as long as the limited copies sold. surely as an artist as long as the musics out there and being enjoyed then what the hell, thats always been my view.

i dunno theres always one ent there haha xD

Thumpa's skinned a few people who he'd found out fileshared his albums.
Everyone has a [rpblem with it - its just a case of how much of a problem.
Sharkey had a huuuge issue to it. Imo its an obstacle companies and musicians have to adapt to. Nu Energy and such didn't adapt.

haha i can imagine after all the work hes put into it, i dont blame him. although i would kill for a copy of BS&T :/ digital files just dont have any charm at all so i dont see the point.

i guess after being in the industry for that long you can kind of see why they were pissed :/

people just need to stop being cheapskates i guess. Im not one to talk though to be fair. when i first got into hardcore i was just downloading tunes for free for a bit until i started taking it more seriously, and saw nu energy couldnt release vinyl anymore so i just deleted the lot and started fresh. not that i made much of an impact lol.

i guess awareness of how much damage it does to niche genres is the best way.

What he said. I'm not sure why I thought it was a website.

It was originally an album that never came to light, apparently because of Resist etc. and various others going bust. When he announced his retirement from the scene he said that all his music (80 odd tracks according to him) would be released on his new website that was apparently days from completion before he cancelled it all after someone uploaded Hardcore Energy 2 to a filesharing site.

I didn't realise that was the reason! What a major loss to the people who did buy & support him.

Also, I thought this might have been new Sharkey releases judging by the thread title. Very optimistic!

Sharkey needs to be slapped by the hand of reality and realize that this is the music industry.

It's just how it works.

Yeah it was a massively disproportionate reaction. Regardless of the people who will inevitably put files online, there was still a pretty large number of people (for hardcore anyway) who would have paid good money for those tunes and been happy to. But life goes on I suppose. haha!

Like thumpa could really stop people from filesharing the album. But then he already blamed me for uploading one album before checking if was me or not.

To be honest. since thumpa makes it into a limited run, he gets just the money he wanted,so I cant se why he complains about piracy, when basicly he doesnt send the CDs until 75% of the stock is gone. So there is no real loss of money.

Also, I dont think the piracy issue was the only reason behind his fit. The Zonkers issue (which imo was a bad move on his part) could also be a reason. Sharkey must've gotten some hate for that.

I don't see how the **** that works... The project was stopped in its tracks long before Sharkey went off on one, and I doubt he'd have retired and drop all of his projects just because I photoshopped a vagina to his face. I know homo's are normally repulsed by vagina's anyway but it'd still be an over-reaction!

The only reason why your project was cancelled was just that! TRACKS! You have the right to make an imitation of an artwork, as long as it's not an exact copy of the original work, and is meant for homage! Sharkey was a complete dick when he posted that on the thread, late or not.

There were unlicensed tracks on someone else's mix. Tbh nobody asked permission, and I never really intend to even after that. I still think asking permission to use a track you paid for in a mix is ludicrous. The rules change from artist to artist. If the law applied to hardcore and the filesharing via mixes was ,pre strict, there would be lawsuits everywhere and no more Hardcore scene.

Everyone in commercial/top tier hardcore are retarded. That's what I think.

Well I can't remember why Al Storm asked for the project to be canceled. I presume it was because someone used a promo that wasn't up for sale yet.

Anyways. The project wasn't much different from normal bedroom dj sets up for grabs. If a artist ask me to remove a (newer) mix of mine, I would only do so by not advertising it other than on my website.
