People are so much filled up with prejudices by the media these days.

There isn't really any prejudice here. It's perfectly acceptable.

You're probably right, when it comes to people who are part of the scene, but this doesn't count for outsiders - at least this is what I have personally experienced so far. If you listen to Raggae in the eyes of society you automatically are a wheedhead. When you go to raves you're a drug addicted person, because no one should be able to listen to electronic music without being strung-out. Listen to Metal and you're on cocaine right away.
I simply can't understand why other people are not able to notice that something you do is because you simply have a passion for it.

Becoz ppl r stupid. Mostly so. And ofc on raves ther r loadsa drugz. They say bout 50% go rave sober se other half loaded up. And i say why not. Been to qlimax 2k9 wiv se pre Ban m-cat. It wos a lill bt too nice to b true.

You're typing has really gone downhill lol. Really trying to be true to the chav lifestyle eh? I doubt anywhere near 50% go to raves sober btw. Although if they did that would be really cool.

i wos lzy an in bed while typin this lol.
bt yeh 100% into chav style i cd show u picz ... lol nah u rthr aint wanna see tht shit coz it wud b bad influence 4 every1.
the 50% havnt thrown this out of me imagination bt based on a book i read where some folkz made surveys. i dbt it meselfz bt ya never no.

I actually couldn't read that - it didn't make one bit of coherent sense. Come on man, it's not that hard to write words.

This hits the nail on the head tbh...even if you went with 10 ppl, you'd sometimes never see them all nite lol...it was kinda an unwritten rule to just go off and do your own thing most of the nite!

When i started ravin back in 93/94 i went to all the raves with my gf and our mutual friends...when we split up in 95 i still carried on with the m8s i had...but one time none of them could make it to the United Dance summer 95 ...so i just went on my own for that one...mainly bcos i knew so many ppl who went to that event just from goin there...so it didn't really matter....funny that all the ppl i used to see there i never communicated with outside of the rave....it ws like going to meet up with a load of family tbh

Funnily enough that one time i went alone i met someone else who had done the same, so we hung out together and became good m8s after that...

In truth...would I stand out like a sore thumb if I went to a rave on my own? And is it more common than I think for people to go to these events by themselves?

I don't know if it's changed that much since my full on raving days from 93-2000...but why would ppl notice...

majority would be too bang on it anyway...i used to get a great sense of community ....you could talk to anyone anytime...if it's something you really enjoy and want to be part of then go and join ppl who think the same...

They aren't gonna judge you...just welcome you into the scene that you love

You can but be careful meeting up with anyone affiliated with HHC.com

It all seemed like fun at first making new friends dancing away and stuff they seemed really cool.

next thing you know i'm waking up in the local B & B in just a leopard skin thong and a sore bum , I unhandcuffed myself heard someone in the en-suite bathroom next to me i look through the key hole and see a massive black guy in a towel.

Another victim of Jay. Although who knows where he found the big black guy.

You'll get used to it after awhile. Dean did.

Think there is a club in sheffield that does an event called 'uprising'...there was another hardcore event they do too...but don't think they're still running as I've checked the club's website...missed a trick there :/ ...futureworld were going to put on a show at sheffield's o2 academy but it got cancelled by the venue which was gutting as I was going for my birthday!
