thats cool they didnt take offers to do "other things" but honestly the music is clearly changed and geared to a much more mainstream crowd, not wasting time for any of them anywhere anymore. watching gammer drop trap is just embarrassing. really widh north america would get on the underground tip. so much good uk hardcore/ makina out of japan and more underground type stuff here.
This is the response I got when I posted a clip of Re-Con - Died In Your Arms Tonight in 2009. It never got released unfortunately, and my clip of it was the only one of this track ever.
He played that at Hardcore Heaven 2009 at the custard factory for the last set, i was there. It's an ok track and his vocals go nicely on it but nothing exactly extrordinary. Would be great if he gave it as a freebie!

However, I have a lot of faith in him. The sheer number of bangers he's had a hand in over the years makes me inclined to be very patient with him.
Re-Con - Bang 9
Re-Con & Alex K - Stab Em
Re-Con & Fluxx - Free Again
are basicly the reason why I began stalking the Raver Baby Crew in the first place.

Re-con still does it for me, his production sounds far more advanced than the vast majority of DJ's in the scene right now. Still love his remix of summertime sadness, never heard a riff quite like that before. His recent collabs are also class ie. everyday and sober w/styles, money bitch w/unknown and klubfiller, superhuman w/hixxy.
Yes there's a couple of tunes that aren't to my taste but re-cons always had the odd tune like that, as far back as I can remember.

One another note his remix of Beneath the Lights is most epic.

AFAIK, there hasn't been a UK hardcore artist at EDC London, which totally makes no sense considering that's where the UK Hardcore scene is the strongest, and you would save money booking a DJ since they're travel costs would be significantly lower than if you brought them to the US.
I see where you're coming from but I see it exactly the other way round. I don't think the fact that there's only one Hardcore DJ at EDC London would particularly attract a wider audience as we have a vibrant Hardcore Scene over here so why bother. In the US though Hardcore events are more rare and Darren Styles doesn't play every month so I guess people have waited long to see him playing.

There are talks happening right now about a HTID stage on a certain well known US event. Doesn't mean it will happen, but we'll see.

A stage? I thought it was going to be an event run by HTID.
Well if it's this year it might not be Tomorrowworld, considering that they had to get rid of one stage because of excessive noise, and some of the DJs will be in Spain playing for Raver's Ibiza.

Pretty ****ing huge that. I don't know much about krewella other than that they're extremely popular in the EDM scene. Can only be a good thing.

Mixed feelings. On one hand we have some good opportunities for hardcore to get some real good and well deserved mainstream recognition. On the other hand we'll have kids that have never heard hardcore in their life think that the futureworld sound that Styles and the others are pushing is what hardcore sounds like as a whole. Either way as a fan of both Krewella and Darren Styles I'm excited to hear what they come up with.

That's completely fine though. My introduction to Hardcore was through the first Clubland X-Treme Hardcore. I loved it and it then made me want to dig deeper into the genre. Years later, I am now a fan of all things Hardcore.
Whether we like it or not, Futureworld is the most accessible part of the scene to outsiders.

I guess you could say that Futureworld is the Spinnin Records of hardcore.... I think

Haven't really heard much at all from Darren this year - will have to search for some releases.
Found this remix of Flyin & Sparky's track which sounds great.

From what I've heard of his more recent style I'm not a fan of the new style sound. Am big fan of his first album and his style from around 2003 - 2008. Disappointing that his style and other producers styles had to change so much for the new electro sound. Why change the old sound when it seemed to be working?
In saying this I really like this remix.
