I enjoy mixing makina in with happycore, as there are some awesome tracks. Nostalgik - "Why", Los Ninos - "no **** in the office" and Pastis n Buenri - "I'm sailing" come to mind as good songs to check out. The only problem I find is that they are pressed at VERY different speeds, and I like hardcore at 180+ bpm and some of the makina is much slower.

Is that a remix of the track by the Offspring of the same name?

hehehehehe makina can be amazing, still got a good few vinyls.
thing is most is the most god awful music you'll ever hear, but the odd tune is so funny its immense.
recently aswell as the cheese has been a lot of kinda half hardcore/half german trance tunes made by the spanish.
I wouldnt call it makina even though its from spain cos is nothing like the old stuff, but i prefer it to pretty much anything coming out the uk.
Has all the good qualities of old ravey hard trance, but modernised and bouncy as hell. Wicked to mix with some of the more commercial gabber stuff.
anyway for makina in the uk is all about haston, check out his 3 deck sessions on www.sbthq.net
*edit
one thing i want to add is that i love the way the rave scene in spain works.
doesnt matter if you can produce or not the best dj's get booked for there talent on the decks.
No mc's but total entertainment, dj's mash up everything on 3 or 4 decks, plus b2b teams that dont just go half and half on sets.
both will be addin constant mixing from screechy acid synths, hip hop samples, hardstyle, gabber and scratching over the makina.
loadsa tunes that are balls on there own sound excellent when there worked like this
