I like both styles. The older, 1996, style of hardcore reminds me of times like getting detention for bringing my walkman into Maths and History back in the early years of high school. It also has a "techno" sort of feel to it, plus 1995/6 was when I first got into the scene. The trancey stuff is exciting, it often makes me think "what style next? Back to break-beats?"
