I personally like both styles. They are both different, so its just like 2 different genres. I spin both styles, and I also try and produce in both styles.
All music needs to evolve over time, and hardcore is no different. As has been said on many an occaision, if you don't like what your hearing, don't buy it, and go and make some of your own tunes Your not the only person who is taking the "anti-trance" stance (hey, I'm a poet!!!! ) so if you make some good tunes, then there will be alot of people willing to buy it.

^^ people seem to think this alot. why doesnt happyhardcore do a sort of thing like that "djvision history of hardcore" thing... ?
it would probably clear up alot of shit. possibly a timeline with mp3/ram clips ?
Oh man, I hope I didn't brain my damage...

Beeing new I'll have to say that I like everything...when you could mix jungle and hardcore...I don't really mind the new "Trance stuff at all...this have to change over time or it would get boring...

Wtf you on about?Old-skool is definately not harder or faster than the new trancey stuff.I don't think I've ever really heard a fast old skool choon.
Back to topic:
I like both really,I like the trancey stuff because it's all new and I think some of it is really good.
Though,I also like happy hardcore and some old-skool/breakbeat choons because some of them are absolutely classic and are what got me into the scene in the first place.
Play wiv them both I say.
Im just a bassline addict
Im just a hardcore addict
Im just a dancefloor manic
Why o why cant you just accept it.

I think the new trancey stuff should come under a different name so I know I'm getting proper hardcore when I buy it.

well if you listen to it first then ud know too wouldnt you. The new trancey stuff is the way hardcore is going. All music styles change over the years and theres just a lot more variety than there used to be. Personnally i think its good for the scene

I agree. I'm not a huge fan of the trancey stuff, but I've heard some tunes from that genre that I really like.
