may seem like a naive question but im a newb to just about everything..
I only just found out bout happy hardcore and i love it but I've heard from a number of places that it died years ago and i'd be kinda pissed off if it has cos i would have missed out on something so good.

No it's dead sorry:(

The site name is just a front , we're really all undercover Progressive House terrorists!!!!!!

In complete darkness we are all the same, it is only our knowledge and wisdom that seperates us.

It never died and never will... There are always new people to keep it going... But I would go on record to say that there is not alot of "happy" hardcore being produced these days it's more straight "hardcore".

it's all hardcore.

B4 i forget a number of people who i know have come to the conclusion that the old style of hardcore is gradually fading & being taken over by zone music

Zone is the way forward, does any1 agree or disagree with this view?

imo, i think it's safe o say HAPPY hardcore is for the most part dead, or dying slowly. lets look at the few happy releases recently?

konomama
til the day
shine a light
heart break
crazy little fingers

that's about it... compared to the massive amouns of upfront, nu oldskool, and freeform...

Oh man, I hope I didn't brain my damage...

Whether its better or not, happy hardcore is changing, and I do think the "happy" hardcore is fading.

imo it died in 2000, and the new trancey pap came in.

i just listen to my old tapes and some of the new shit

as long as theres happy hardcore believers they'll soon get fed up of the trance and go back to mixing happy 4 beat tunes :D

happy hardcore forever!

hardcore is bigger than it's ever been.

more and more quality releases of all various styles come out every week.

there are hardcore releases popping up on non-hardcore lables (Nukleuz, Tidy Trax, All Around The World, Ministry of Sound) all over the place...

and for everyone who says there's no cheesy 4 beat stuff any more.

you're just not looking hard enough.

look at labels like Rave n Beats, ATM Recordings, Masterwax, Quosh, UK Dance (which'll be starting up again soon or so i hear), Just Another Label (also starting up again soon). Not to mention remixes of popular 95-98 tunes popping up all over the place.

hardcore is far from dead.
its never been more alive.

Get More ****ed and Get Rockin!!

I would say hardcore is becoming more popular because of the Trance. Many people hate the old cheesy style of Happy Hardcore but they like the style of Trance, and the new hardcore style is a bit like commercial trance, but faster, so this attracts many new people to hardcore.

Yes, happy tunes are still being made, but you will find that they are trance and dont sound anything like the old Happy Hardcore style.
The old Happy Hardcore is definitely dead.
