i made a disission a couple of months ago that i needed to start fresh in my life (feeling at 19 i wana choose the right path 4me). i chose a ND in music tecnology so i could learn to produce music, well hardcore. only thing is its usually accepted that a dj who makes his own tracks is a producer, and although i have some deks i dont consider my self to be a dj. im an MC. people say that an mc shopuld have a dj to work with, so if i was to produce hardcore with my own lirics (UFO+Marley / D&G+Smiley Style) without the dj, would it be accepted within then hardcore seen or would some little wankers slaggin me off cuz i aint a dj?
oh s*it man, what was i saying?

Nope, give it a go.
Ethos makes tunes with Kaos, and Ethos is more known for his mc'ing.

Sharkey is known for DJing, MCing and producing, Ethos produces.... theres nothing to stop you producing and MCing...... if you do get a problem just invent a new name for your producing, and use that.

If someone slags you for something stupid like that then they ain't really hardcore! Be what you want and do what you want, it's the only way you'll make yourself happy.

You should produce
Whether you're an MC, a DJ, or just a person who appreciates music, if you can understand the patterns & flows, then you can produce anything. I know a couple people that produce, who can not mix two records properly together. But the tracks they make are good. Seriously, do what you want to do & don't wory about what others say

Dont let others blinker your goals mate. You seem to have got yourself going without help. I have my own philosophy and it is to be original, creative and unique. How can you become unique if everybody tells yout o be like someone else and follow trends. You dont have to be anything you dont want o be, and you can get out of it what you want and not what all your mates( or not so mates) are telling ya. As long as you are critical of your weaknesses and respectful of your strengths you can do whatever you want.
Well done mate. For having the balls to change your life, focus your dreams and get on with it. People will be critisising you all your musical life as that is the nature of music as its such a personal and passionate thing. take what you think is relevant out of positive critsism and **** the rest.
Be proud of taking the path you chose for you, just like i did at the same age. Live your dreams and work hard. I did and look what it did for me.
P.M when you pass your course and do your first tracks. i would love to hear how you get on
Good Luck

i got a tune or 2 sharkey m8 ;) *plug plug*
on a serious note tho (or an attempt when you're pissed out of your head in spain) if you want to do a tune, then go do a tune. don't be scared of criticism,in fact look for it. its the only way you're going to know what needs to be improved on in future production.

Couldn't agree more with that..... criticism is one of the best tools you will get in the music industry, and you should be glad to receive it. These kids on Pap Idol don't know how lucky they are getting criticism off the likes of Pete Waterman and Simon Cowell, yet all they do is blubber and start shouting. Take criticism in all its forms as a means of improving your sound. If its negative, work on what the negative point is, and improve on it. If its positive, DON'T get all complaicant (spelling?) about it, but use it as something you have done right to implement in your other tracks.... then over time with experience you will be one of the shit hottest producers out there and you can turn round to the ****ers who said "you can't be an MC and produce and tell them to go shove the microphone up their....... nostril!!
OT: Mouse... you on your hols mate?
