i thought this was amongst hhc.com members who participate at least on occasion to these forums. it would be a bit overwhelming if we had too many participants, and probably harder to judge

It depends how many actually post a mix, though, and we might get a wider selection then we would just HHC. As long as it's a few people shouldn't be too bad...

..unless that viral thing happens.

Doubt it. Besides I only sent the thread to a few people, expecting only one to take up the offer. And yeah, I agree with TheOneNOnly.

Looking good chaps! Reckon a minimum of about ten entries should be enough to make an interesting contest so we'll set the deadline to confirm entry and set conditions as the end of the week. Then i'll work on a time limit for entries and get a new topic going for the fun to start!

A friendly contest sounds fun :D I'm not too experienced but I'd love to join, if I'll have time!

That may be so, but vdj is Shamefull in my eyes.

Anyone can download a craked copy n start thinking they are Real dj lol, in all they years off dj'ing iv never used it !!

and someone could just steal a pair of decks. What's your point? :)

Anyways, if you're going to allow VDJ (or other software), Automixing should not be allowed. I haven't gotten it to work well, but then, its more fun actually to be somewhat active :P

If im allowed to entry an old mix, I got a good short one. Or this might force me to make a new mix, since I havent done anything since late 2008

My point is simple vdj is shite and Fake, the amount of chavs etc who boost about being a good dj when using vdj is mad,

now im not the best dj in the world, Mainly being im always drinking with friends when i make a mix,
But i have pride with every mix i make, due to the fact i have used 1210's + cdjs

Also what diffrence will it make saying Dont use Automixing or Autobeat?? (Whatever it is)
No dought ppl will still use it !!

Okay. I didn't mean for you to complain this much about it, I really don't care. I'm using it since I DO NOT have money for real CDJs or a mixer. With the above being stated for the 2nd time I would hope you understand. I never said I use automixing. I can't help but use a sync button sometimes, BECAUSE VDJ is shit. Yes, we know its shit. But HELL at least I am making a god damn effort. It's better than just sitting around waiting for the money to come in so I can buy CDJs. Plus without VDJ I wouldn't even know WTF to do when I got actual CDJs.

Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you have to ruin things for other people. I can have fun with it, since it is the closest thing to DJing I can get. I love hardcore and that's it man.

Cheers mate!

Heres a tip then mate, Dont sit around do somthing !!! I spent a lot of Work time and money for my setup, i work'd my balls of my ages, never spending any spare cash dude.

Im not trying to ruin it for ppl just stating my opinion on Vdj.

I can see from one of the above post stating if it wasnt for vdj they wouldnt know waveforms,
now thats a important thing a dj needs to learn,

so spose there is some good coming from mouse & keyboard work :/

I'd be game for busting out a mix for this get my decks sunday..

With the whole vdj thing maybe you should split them, VDJ Mixes and Deck Mixes
Then the winner from each section goes up against each other that way the public decides.

That is a very good idea. I really think that should be a separate competition though.
I think he said the end of this week is the due date (saturday) I may not be able to finish my mix by then.
I've been putting a lot of hours in at work lately - company doesn't even pay overtime.

Uh no, he said he will get the official details out then, and then you have until that deadline he set. So you have more time.

Yep, only need confirmation of who's taking part by the end of the week.
Then probably another couple of weeks to get the entries in.

BTW is using Sync button sorta automixing? It wont be a big problem it it is, but it makes everything easier.

And for digital DJing I recommend Traktor Scratch Pro since I found it so much better than VDJ. VDJ has been so popular only for its name.

And is it 1 mix per user?

Personally, i'd prefer all mixes done as 'naturally' as possible. Don't have much experience of virtual dj myself but from what i've seen there are pitch buttons so no real excuse to use sync?

And yes, 1 mix per person will be the best way.
