Yes.
because imo no matter what argument a person uses or makes up to defend their own reason for illegally downloading and/or sharing music it all comes down to the fact that you are usings these excuses mainly because you don't want to spend a dollar or two for a track. or in simpler terms, a cheap bastard.
@Mortis you are absolutely right that FB is killing the forums, but in a good way. and i also agree that the hhc.com fb page needs to be used more i'm sure that there are members on there that no longer come here would like to see that as well.

Warnman: I'm not saying that it's a Hardcore phenomena. I'm actually saying it's the other way around.
Why would "hackers" steal songs from people who barely make money, to use in extortion?
No. When it comes to hardcore, it's purely for piracy-scene-reason. Getting out as many releases as possible to gain access to other releases.

it surprises me how on USH they are so quick to jump on the bandwagon and slag off top artists. then other times they are even quicker to support them and brown nose them to fack. that place is just dangerous imo
theres so little money in hardcore, it doesnt surprise me that the NEC are getting pissy.

I've been on their promo list for sometime now and Kevin's always been sound as a pound genuine and approachable. Never worked alongside him but worked with some of the other 'names' in the early noughties when they came to a club in the northeast and they all seemed canny enough then, but in the last couple of years when trying to speak with them just got the cold shoulder Sy being the exception

they could always restart with DRM again. As long as I get what I pay for, I wont mind having DRM protected files, as long as it still works with mp3 players.
But DRM isn't always good. I clearly remember trying to install Bioshock when I bought it. I couldn't connect to the authentication server's for 2 days. In the mean time I used a cracked EXE file and could still play the game. And yea... the WMA i bought on IMOrecords where hell to get running again...

Dunno how many of you guys have been following this over on USH, but I thought I'd post it because I think it's definitely worth a read. Kevin Energy has posted some interesting and empathy provoking stuff, and the majority of the USH users have displayed an embarrassing lack of respect/gratitude/understanding. I reckon I'm in for a right little argument after what I personally posted on there (I'm 'Hardcore Highlights' on there):

My post has been deleted already. So, ignore the reference I made about my post.

Annoying, I'm a bit drunk and really can't remember word for word, but it was entirely supportive of Kevin and entirely "Fcuk you-ish" to the majority of people that had posted in that thread.
The basic thrust was that even if you disagree with his music, the issue of file-sharing or any of those topics - the way Kevin has/had conducted himself is nothing short of astonishing, especially if you consider the vehemency of the posts that are there. As I said on there - I don't know the guy, have had no personal contact with, and even if I thought he was a prcik before this issue/incident (which I obviously don't/didn't) - it will still be practically impossible to have anything but respect for the guy after what he's written there.
P.S. Vladel, if any of what I've written sounds like it is - please be assured that none of this is taking a dig at you at all. Fair's fair and you did what you thought was right, and were obviously vexed at the suggested accusation.

yea what a pile of shit those ppl at ush are. see by comparison how we argue here and how they go on about over there. even when Kevin Energy went on there and completely explained the situation, some ppl still didn't get it, including samination
hard to believe anyone would waste their time defending a crowd like that. I gather it's always been like that, seeing as that was also the site which started the feud with DNA and his breakbeat hardcore set at a massive rave.

Oh, I did get it alright, already at Alex's first post, but I still wanted to rant about not liking the music :P
and that DNA thing, he played breakbeat on a hardcore rave, wouldn't you get pissed if you payed for hardcore and got reggae instead :P

The album was uploaded by a proper scene warez group, most likely stolen or leaked to them. Check the NFO

I would suggesr Mr Energy go after UKHx and leaves his poor customers alone!
PS, No I didn't download it, Freeform ain't my bag. Did a raw search for Harcore Energy 2 on the newsgroups to get the NFO

I think it's pretty shocking that a small minority on USH are attacking Kev he's trying to stop people stealing his work. What a bunch of wankers. I've only recently started to post on that site but I don't think I'm going to bother with them anymore, if this is the attitude they have towards one of the main people in the scene they supposedly love then I don't want to be associated with them.

The extortion part is not the normal case, simply reduced to a few individuals and effecting the pop(stars) only.
Usually it is done for gaining "respect" and appreciation.
But for exercising hacking skills smaller scenes are used and prefered. There is no big outcry, when it does happen and chances to get caught are laughable.
