Toytown, Hardcore was Hardcore then. However, a free cd from Mixmag got me onto the nu skool way of life.

Discoland by Tiny Tot
In '97 I heard it in a maths lesson at school on one of those non-uniform-n-bring-ya-music-in days. "Back in the day" every1 was in2 hardcore n EVERY1 sang along- it was an amazing moment that I'll never forget! I spent the next year buyin all the hardcore compilations I could find tryin to find it (with no luck!!!) n fell totaly in love with hardcore in the process. Finaly got it on a Vibes & Live-Lee helter skelter tape (last track & last set of the nite)- nearly cried when I heard it
U know it's love when the world tells u its s**t but u listen to it anyway

Spot on Fee Obsession is the 1. Still listen 2 it and hardly sounds dated now, ultrasonic where proper talented so ahead of their time. Dunno exactly what tune got me in2 hardcore it jus kinda happened but Ultrasonic had a lot 2 do with especially Obsession, Annihilating rhythms 1 and 2, Love me right and hey Mr Dj. In fact basically all their stuff. Other tunes i remember been big for me in my early hardcore listenin was Rhythmic State "Soap on a Rope" and all the Dye Witness Stuff like the future and masterplan. Basically all the stuff off the old Rez and Clubscene tapes and cd's.

At first, a long time ago.. I heard "Thunderdome till we die"... And from there on I heard that kinda hardcore.. After some months tho, I began listening to trance and such instead.. But then a year ago i heard "Scott Brown - This is Hardcore"....
Have been hooked at upfront and freeform styles since :)
