Well god bless my citronics and their +10 pitch 8) , means I can start on Hecttech at +6 and still manage to match Essential Platinum tunes in if I want :D

Whats the deal with everybody playing stuff at such fast speeds now. Its putting me right of.

I think i was listening to a set of virus, and dont get me wrong i think hes a great dj, but i just dont think it sounds good playing stuff at that speed. It takes so much away from the tune. I mean why produce tunes at 170 if your gonna play em at 180+ ????

I like fast but i think things are going a little over the top. Like this macho thing going on. Who can play the fastest. Sorry but i ent too keen o it. Just my oppinion though

Well some people just like it faster :)

I'm sure there's plenty of people who would say you play too slow ;) In the end though it's all about what you want to do isn't it? I personally think EP stuff has more impact slower, but a lot of other tunes sounds great going *very* fast :D

It's not really a macho thing.. I'm not gonna feel some great sense of achivement if I mix my hardcore at +50 pitch (but hmmm.. does give me an idea :D). I'm not gonna feel like a big man or anything.

You just start the record off, and if it sounds too slow *to you* then speed it up.... it's all about the personal touch :)

Just a matter of opinion, isn't it? I happen to like my hardcore a bit faster. It's nothing to do with being more "macho" than anyone. I just like it that way.

on most dekz (sept if uv got ***** mint 1z) wen u speed a record up ur changin the pitch. wen u speed a record up ur increasin the pitch and there4 make the record sound less bassy. anyways wen the beat is 2 fast u carnt feel it (i mean u need 2 dance 2 it dont ya) but 2 slow is just pathetic so id say bout + 2/3 oh yeah, anova fing is dat records start off at different speeds so just sayin +woteva kinda means fuk all so we need 2 deal in BPM

i will sometimes hit my 44s to 33 for a second to let the trancey part build heavy. its probably runnin around135 to 140 then i hit the shifter when the beat kicks for that extra oomph bangin back at 170 to 185

for me... it's not about bpm's. i listen to euro trance (bout 145) and hard trance (155-160), just fine. i'm not a freak of nature who NEEDS music at 190+bpm. personally, i like the way a hardcore track sounds when it's on +7 or +8 (of course not all tracks, but most), doesn't matter if it was written at 165bpm or 180. to my ears, it adds more energy to the track.

Yes i can see what you mean actually bout it sounding good at that speed. There are a lot of tunes that do sound better at fast speeds. I think i have been plaing a lot of Raver Baby / EP stuff lately and i gues that just sounds better slower to me. So yes i gues it is just down to feel and whjat sounds best to you.

yeah, i guess its all down 2 personal taste and how u feel on the day.
but i fink that just cuz a tune is played quicker dusnt mean that it rokz more. and lets face it the whole thing about hardcore is 2 dance 2 it and wen a beat is 2 fast it carnt b danced 2.

i know its not hardcore but duz any1 know that tune called Insomnia by Faithless? cuz that goes ded slow but it mint 4 dancin 2

yea... i'm not saying that songs DO, in fact, sound better pitched up and that the original speed of the track sucks. to me, it just sounds better and i really like how it sounds so that's why i play faster. and it's really funny that when i play on non-pitched up, or unmodified, decks (that only go up to +8), people always comment on me playing a "slow" set.
