shouldn't really quote that but that's what happened to me at work today when talking to some one at work after the radio was switched on.
since when can you stereotype music to a group of people in that sort of snobery way I hate that. I told her to get her facts right that rave music is for Anyone and everyone.
No I'm not having a go at chavs (because that's pointless, i have some chavvy friends as well as rocker-friends) I'm having ago at people/snobs who stereotype to that degree.

It's ironic, because Hardcore music is by far the least chav'iest music of all, as is the scene :)

Sayin that there were loads of chavs at the last rave I went to but think they were mostly by the drum and bass arena

Im not even gona start my little rant about this. But up here (in the NE), rave music is makina, charvs listen to makina, therefore if you listen to makina you are a charv. This is a problem for me because I HATE charvs yet I listen to makina.
Oh yeah, the word chav gets thrown around far too much.

to the dude above me, a 'chav' is a new culture in the UK today, you don't have them over there (you lucky people!) I went to canada in 2004 and no chavs their either! :)
ok here's a few things chavs are/do (some of you may not agree but this is mostly right
* age is between early teens to 20 (I think)
* they wear branded sports clothes (ie nike), bubbery baseball cap pointed up at 90degrees, have shaved head, tuck trackies into their socks, fake cheap gold 'bling' earings/stud and rings (soveran rings)
* walk with a stagger, a sought of I'm hard to mess with me sort of a walk
*swearing, cussing, spitting at people, like to say' yous a ****in goff init **** off or i'll get ma mates and me brovers on ya, what you say about my mam!!!!'
* have chaved-up/modded cars, usually old novas and escorts
*don't have jobs
*hate anyone who is different to them
* rob, fight, shout abuse
*last but not least like listening to comerican hiphop/r'n'b like Nelly and sadly they listen to happyhardcore giving it a bad reputation
but happyhardcore isn't chav music.
and that's just the male sort, the female sort is called a 'chavvette' or 'kappa-slapper' and are simular to the male except it's normal for them to get pregnant at 15.

i dunno how many will agree with me on this but from what i have seen so far
Drum N Bass is chav music
thats no offense to any drum n bass guys out there - cause i do like a fair amount of it myself, but it does seem to be a very popular genre in chav culture..
i just cant see chavs trying to look 'ard and singing along to "heartbeats" or "still the one"
