see... personlly people thinkl hardcore is already dead!!! if it went back to happy hardcore (witch it won't) then its hardcore being reborn...
i miss the whole chesse facter of hardcore man... it was good... true and it was "origanl!"

hardcore is "its own genre" these days tho... its got sub genres like freeform... gabba was slaped under and "happy" became its own subgenre evan tho most people see it as "oldskool"
but these days hardcore is mostly all about "trancecore"... personally this is ALL WRONG!!!

i think "trancecore" sould become a genre of its own and l;eave hardcore to be its own ya know...

hardcore won't die... but subgenres will go up and down all the time... they won't die tho.. they will remain "underground" witch onceagain personally its BETTER!!!!

and as hardcore pregress's ... new sub genres will be poping up...

theres a genre coming around that me and few other DJs are working towards called "Fannycore"... not posting any details on here tho as lets face it most pps on here are all about trancore anyways...

but hardcore ent just one thing these days... people like me can piss and moan all they want but nothing will ever get done... its just an opin...

see people like me see music as there life... and we know that "culture" is very importent in music... and as for trend follows with so called trancecore.... i think we can all see that this ent gonna go anywhere...

and when "trancecore" dies... it will be when it reachs the clubs on broadstreet instead of the raves... or if it was to apear on TOP OF THE POPS!!! or something like that... and with selling out to aatw... i think this is gonna happen in the next decade or so...

but hardcore will still carry on... trancecore will just be a bad example to true hardcore DJs & ravers and we'll carry on fighting another subgenre and keep it hardcore... instead of changing it 2"TOO MUCH!!!" cuse we have money waved in our faces!!!

I am not about trancecore, i like it but Ramos and Marley were doing it years ago.
Granted it dominating the sound lately but so has Jungle, piano , techno four four , breakbeats, cheese remixes,i could go on but I won't as the beauty of hardcore is that sooner or later it swallows up all other music. It is hybrid and a bastard that is its own beast. Sure fades pass thru it but they get eaten up and spat out again. Now I am about Happy hardcore, any out there agree with me?
Been into rave since I was 15, now 16 years later I am still here and so is Hardcore and the happy variety only went quiet once around 93 to 96 before jungle became its own thing like Garage from House and so on.
This Trancecore now is like hardcore has gone on holiday to IBiza a bit to long but then I liked that sound too, so it doesn't bother me it is not though my first love that is reserved for piano, girly vocals and joy and judging by the radio so is the site. when its not I'll be gone

Erm I think that you'll find most raves had piano tracks playing at them, I think Stu allen, Ratpack seduction and sy were all playing then, I seem to remember a lot of them at Tribal Gathering Universe 93 in Wiltshire. The Techno tent was the happiest I have ever been in. The Hardcore tent was an acre large but was very dominated by Jungle and Darkness ( sorry Slipmatt that doesn't include you )
I suppose if your defination is Techno beat Happy Hardcore then no, But the Jungle and darkness was a backlash to cheesy old skool, I would consider Trip to Trumpton, Don't Go, Sweet Harmony, Let me be your Phantasy all to be Old skool Happy hardcore but funnily enough we didn't call it old skool as it was really quite new then.
My original point being the music by its nature is evolving continually when it doesn't do that, that's when it will die, however I see no signs of that, even if trance parts are the latest phase, sooner or later something else will lead the way.
The beauty of this music is it is magpie by its nature, it rips, uses and embraces all types of music inside its style. That's what makes it so strong and so difficult to die off, Any time it needs to go underground it does and it comes back stronger with a new sound. Other types of Dance struggle to do that, so they become a stuck sub-genre. There are exceptions to this like hardcore, in broad terms Jungle , House and Techno do this. However Rave and then Hardcore excel at it
