Is the cheese so dead that the ravers don't know it is the root of happy hardcore? What happend to the happy go lucky days ? Drat U upfront !!

That is the whole problem of the youth these days.
You'll find it in every scene...
The lack of respect towards the "first/older generations".
In Holland it's known to cause fights among Gabbers. Why?
Because, the young ones don't care about the origins of the scene. They think we're too old, they say the scene is created by them, they always in what ever kind of hardcore discussion/conversation seem to know it better then some one who's been there in 1990.
I don't mean all the young ravers. I've met some who totally support the scene and know all the facts. They are the "new oldskool", true believers, haha. They know here and how it begun.
But the ones who trash it...
They ruin the spirit, the pleasure of being together...
So, to come back at your question:
the ravers who don't know it are too young or not trueschool enough to remember...
So, the cheese is not dead the crowd it just to young, haha...
(but keep in mind that this is Dutch Hardcore I'm talking about)

Angel of Avalon, you sound like me when defending old school hip hop. Hip hop from the early 90s I think was some of the best music every made. People weren't afraid to have fun and rhyme over happy sounding beats (e.g. De La Soul, Pharcyde). However, nowadays you will hardly ever hear a rapper rap over a happy sounding beat or have fun lyrics. Plus most modern kids into rap/hip hop don't have much of a clue of where it came from either. I guess with any genre of music things happen like this. It's sad.

Chedder Vol 2 is a pure classic. But Chedder's Rollin has shockingly waek beats for 1996!!!
