i was listening to my collection to day, and as the songs got newer, the "happy" just left....
recently, there is no more HAPPY hardcore being made,
sure.. there's EMO/pop hardcore.. but its not happy. :(
gabber's taking over, if its agressive and got violence in it.. it seems to be more popular. just the same as RnB except with less sex.. but even thats slowly creeping in.
just where is hardcore going?

^^^ Listen to the man! He may have no hair, but he knows what he's talking about!
I'd also add In Effect vs D&G - Take Me On Up to that list too

Not saying its all shit but i dont like hardly any of the new happy songs, yet i like a lot of the classics.
I dont no whether its because of nostalgia i have good memories of those songs and i've just grown out of it now, or what i think is the case is i dont like cheesy stuff made on new equipment cos it sounds too polished for simple cheese. Beauty of cheese to me is in the simple production, just nice and bouncy and i absolutely hate the common trancey leads that get used on most modern tunes.
I love well produced music but i just cant get into cheese made by todays production methods, that "be happy" song makes me want to be sick, i like the new elysium but still wouldnt buy it or listen to it outside of a rave. Much prefer the original mix also.
What you say about gabber is a bit true, as the saying goes "the masses are asses" so you do get people who just want a shitty rap sample followed by a standard nu style riff. But as a scene in the uk it is very varied, go in a gabber room at a rave and you'll hear allsorts all night and crowds are a lot more open to change than the main rooms imo.
happy hardcores time has been and gone, finished up in the late 90's cos too many shit tunes came out.
hardcores going good at the minute, lotsa different sounds and even though i dont like them all its wkd to see more parties coming out of it, and more good people i can rave with getting into it.

Theres loadsa happy melodic tunes out!!
Cant please everyone though. One minute people moan about singing about angels, stars, bubbles and buttercups, and then we have people like you saying you want more of it!
Stick to what you like, look hard enough (although its easy) and you'll find what your into. Keep away from other stuff that your not so keen on. Just remember, the gabber lovers may hate your happy hardcore, and visa versa.
haha some one reference me on that pile of bollocks i just wrote It makes no sence and im cracking up :D
hahaha loves it. ROCK ON! *dances to brisks lovely mix on HH3*

but there is hardcore im liking atm.....the xtreme style is fantastic and gabba is amazing me over this past year or two.....loving my freeform and theres some kick ass breakbeats coming out......so still some wkd stuff flying around but happy isnt for me atm im afraid unless it sounds like an oldskool tune ofcourse.

exactly its not weird to like one and not the other, there very different styles of music. I love my old cheese and love my gabber/speedcore but theres something about fast music i need to have chunky kickdrums you can feel, why i hate most the new sped up plastic trance stylee.
its like what we were talking about earlier emmy. Ravings a way of life to a lot of people, once it's been a big part of your life for years and it changes in a way that you now hate it can be quite hard at first to fill the gap and find something new.
Thing is the producers are making what they like and its working, just that some people get left behind as there tastes go different ways to the popular style.

your tastes like mine then just like stuff thats a bit more in your face, thing is im happy with things at the minute and i think you'll agree with that.
It did annoy me when i first realised i no longer enjoy going to main rooms at big events cos the music was pissin me off, but the last year has seen some of the best raving i've ever had through checking out more of whats to offer.
My music taste in generals very different now aswell though, sellin off loadsa my uk hardcore/makina and i can see why i liked them but the love has definitely gone. Drum n bass/jungle i would never imagined i'd get into at all but is a lot of what i listen to nowadays, then just totally non rave related music aswell.
What im saying about filling the gap when you lose your love for a certain style, i've more than filled the gap and listen to more good music now than ever before.

oh yes, here here!!
Also i think Gabber is just one of those "red wine" "Brie cheese" things....
Its an acquired taste (which i genuinely find from past experience) is gained with age. hey its not fact. just my thoughts. I'm dipping my feet into a bit of harder hardcore :D
(why are all my post so shit and stuff tonight?!)

its because its the era of upfront, even the ones Mortis mentioned i dont class as happy
there just upfront tracks with happy trancy breakdowns
which isnt what the happy tracks from a few years were about, they were about the FULL track
only ppl i would class as happy would be people sparky, who still have that magic

like you say when something new changes so much you go in search of more ear pleasure.
im loving the happy stuff by kurt and mozz atm but apart from that its mostly misses with a few hits imo

By happy, you meen tunes that makes you happy?
Try these:
Search for Impact's mix on the forum, it's packed with uplifting tunes!
Have you checked out Next Generation / Blatant Beats stuff lately?
They have lots of great tunes that makes you feel better.
http://www.nextgenerationrecords.co.uk/music.cfm Eclipse - Be Happy http://www.nextgenerationrecords.co.uk/audio/nextgen/ram/NG041A.ram The name should say it all. What about In Effect & Gammer's tune We come Alive? http://happyhardcore.com/images/news/20060407/In-Effect_Gammer_-_WeComeAlive.mp3 If that one doesn't make you feel higher/better... mehh And Impact's tune Breathe Again: http://happyhardcore.com/images/news/20060413/A_-_Impact_-_Breathe_Again_(2006_mix)_CLIP.mp3 Makes you happy? (Yupp, I'm bored. That's why I'm posting this much) Brisk & Wotsee Live @ HTID10 http://www.nextgenerationrecords.co.uk/audio/mix/ram/BriskandWotseeHTID10.ram End of posting (and continue boredom).

agree pretty much with that but i think it kinda depends on the rave scene in your area.
I started raving in glasgow where hardcore is bouncy techno and gabber, with happy hardcore been pretty much only played at under 18's parties but still much loved. I grew up listening to rez tapes so gabber to us wasnt as much of an aquired taste as it is to some. Breakbeats on the other hand was never played in any form (hardcore, dnb, jungle), i cant remember any dj playing it at raves and when they did only stories i heard was they got pelted with glowsticks and bottles for there trouble.
So in a lot of ways what gabber is to you, dnb was to me. Now i've lived down south and grew up a bit i've realised how amazing it is and all the years i've got to catch up on is a brilliant thought.
To kids in holland gabber isnt an aquired taste cos its rammed down there throats at an early age when there still finding "there music". Most people find the music they like in early teens and it progresses from there, so if you never heard or liked gabber it will take a while for you to get into it.

music production defo has a big change on your tastes, i'm nowhere near as far on as a lot of you lads but it changes everything about how you view different genres.
they stop being different and all become just music, its a fantastic thing and im sure my tastes will change again and i'll probably hate what i like now. I dont care my appreciation of everything has gone so much higher, for all the stuff i now hate i've picked up 10x more of new stuff i like.

well u get my point. and while the new stuff that mortis mentions is good, it does lack that "something" and as you said baldo.. the production these days is just to clean for it.
now as some of u know, im abit of an ameture producer, and i like the stuff i make. but the last tune i made (as an example) basicly it was just a funky drum intro, some jumpy piano, and a moodyer trancy line after it... (i then added my signature hyper happy attack lead to it too)
but.. really im happy with how it sounds its not perfect, and while the advise ppl give me would poilish it up and with hours of work it could be up to release worthy standard (yeah right lol) its not about that.
i just make it cos its happy (i hope) and just abit of fun for me.
its all about the tune, and the old school stuff was like that.
its all about making a "perfect" tune these days :(
its the "fun" element thats been lost in all the "professionalism" that im trying to get at.
