Well apparently it's just a differance in culture. Here in the states when you see someone at a rave wearing candy it signifies that they are hardcore fanatics and that they follow the PeaceLoveUnityRespect ideal. It's all about the good vibes, being happy, hugging strangers, loving the music, and having FUN! Sure it's ridiculous, happy, wacky, crazy, out of this world-but so is the music-and thats why we love it.We take it to the extreme and theres nothing else like it!And not everyone in the hardcore family is a candykid, but there is no segregation...we are all united in hardcore.

Where I'm from we have faced much opposition...for a long time there was this random hate against the candykids and happyhardcore. Hardcore Djs rarely got gigs and when they did it was no guarentee they'd get to spin. The candykids and hardcore fanatics realized if we wanted more core we'd have to do it ourselves, so fans became djs and everyone came togethor and started producing our own all happyhardcore events. The hardcore family got bigger and bigger until by 01-02 happyhardcore became one of the most dominating formats at raves and candykids were everywhere! It changed everything.
And I guess thats my page in rave history.

we are all united in hardcore.

I hold my hand out to you

THAT IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!!

Everything you just said is how i used to think hardcore was... (still do, and always want it to be that way)
Thats how hardcore sould be man...

I'm not on about the image of a kandy kid (hey if you wanna dress like a rainbow then thats your taste) I'm on about the CULTURE in genral!!!

I've always seen hardcore as more then just the music... i've ALWAYS seen ravers in genral as a culture...

a culture were no matter who you are, where your from, your rase, color bla bla... or evan the diffrence of a stupid "socail group"...

HARDCORE was were ANYONE could join in, just have a blast and were everyone was (like you said) UNITED!!!!

personally i think its becuse of the whole "UK HardCore" scene thats changed it all...
(ironic how someone stated that P.L.U.R. wasn't really big in the "UK")

i mean in todays raves you get PRICKS going around courcing trobble, robbing glowsticks... 13-15 year olds walking around thinking they own the place... ect ect ect ect

WHAT SORT OF A CULTURE IS THAT!

Its stupid... and its the reason why you'll always find me stressing over anything commercal (clubland for example) not just cuse it sounds completly shite, its untalented & totally unhardcore... but cuse of the amount of scum it atracts...

The type of people that just pick music up and put it back down... and don't really follow the music, let alone the culture/scene... they just turn up to there 1st rave and instead of just having a good time they walk around courcing trobble (chavs in other words)...

pop princess's I like to call then... i.e. anything on BRMB goes...

Nicly said mate... I'm touched

mate hardcore events have been fulla gangs since i started raving, going under 18's in 98 then onto real raves about 2001. ITS NOT A NEW THING

tbh i think it started when drugs got shitter, raves have always been for everyone so in that everyone includes scum. when sweets took people out of this world starting fights was the last thing on there mind, it's still not that bad though goin out it's a lot better than town.

depends on your area i suppose but in a lot of places hardcores had all that for years, scotland and the north east did as long as i've been about anyway.

theres always been people getting robbed and little cocks who stand staring at you, then as soon as you make eye contact it's all "what you lookin at"

but you dont let it spoil your night, stick up for yourself and stick with mates you'll be fine.

i've been ravin for years and never had a beating in a rave. down south it's a lot better aswell cos the gangs arent interested in hardcore, all either dnb, garage or grime.

bigger events have more problems with it aswell, people no theres a lot of drugged up easy targets so for thieves it's an ideal place. people can go with jus a ticket and no money come out with phones, sweets and allsorts. not even that they can jus take a pack of smints and come out with enough cash.

and it is much moe of a problem with younger ones, always here folks moaning about birkenhead lads in the happy rooms.

go in the hard rooms every second persons scouse/birkenhead and there some of soundest, most up for it ravers you'll meet.

it's definitely more of a problem in happy rooms, they look for easy targets at end of the day if your gonna kick up a fuss they'll pick on someone easier a lot of the time.

i really dont mean that to sound bad cos it really isnt much trouble jus i hate when people make out it's new, they obviously never raved a few years ago cos it was the exact same.

Yup, the shady ones who hold no higher meaning to raving other than to make a dollar by ripping people off have been problems for the scene everywhere. Ya just gotta stay strong in what you believe in,the true rave spirit, and educate and empower each other as a whole.

well overall music unites people. But there are gonna be different sub-culture amongst a culture. Rave culture has sub genres and along that came sub genres of ravers and people who just loved to party. Rave culture is unity in general(not just one genre of tronics).

yeah, not everyone who wears kandy is into hardcore for a fact(it happens). There were a couple of kandy kids who knew nothing or very little about core. They were mostly interested in hard house/trance/house/or dnb.

Something is not global just because it's in America, Canada and Japan

quote:
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/:
global - involving the entire earth; not limited or provincial in scope; "global war"; "global monetary policy"; "neither national nor continental but planetary"; "a world crisis"; "of worldwide significance"
