As far as kandy culture goes...here in america again lets not include other countries because than we will have a sh!t fit but when I see kandy kids I think hardcore. I love kandy kids I think they are awesome and fabulous and kickin. Although most think they are really gay or just to eccentric looking but we could have said that about the club kid movement but its all about expression and if that means wearing over 100 bracelets and necklaces than so be it. However you think you should dress to express yourself than do your thing. Peace 2 anyone and everyone. Pssssh there are far more worst things in this world to be defending about styles and cultures. Haha.
Newayz...kandy kids are awesome-0 and I have people who agree*
apologies i went a bit overboard, each to there own at end of the day.

YaY for the cybergirl dancers! But actually it doesn't impress me much. I've seen plenty of girls like that in the states, they're called strippers LoL!
But seriously, hot girls, hot pics. I just prefer mine to be cute and candy.

Seems to me that you do. Maybe you should read it and you'd see that your wrong.
There's like 192 Countries in the world there's kandy kids in what 4-6 of them and your saying that it's a global thing!

Agreed.

Agree with that too. I admit to thinking it myself at one point till I saw pictures of a Dutch rave
Nice one for posting up some cyber gear jowlimowli :). Was trying to find some myself so I could explain the difference better.

I may have the wrong end of the stick here do you think they're all dancers? Only one at most of those girls is a dancer, this is just how most girls dress at a UK hardcore party.
As I have already said I don't have a problem with kandy kids I'm just stating that it isn't a global thing and it isn't big in allot of the countries that are massive contributors to the Hardcore scene. I may be being a dick and arguing over pointless crap but meh I don't care...

I see. That style reminds of of Japanese cosplay except not as extreme. What kind of dances do they do? Do they throw liquid and stuff?
While the candy style may not be popular in other parts of the world I've researched a bit and found that it originated in the early 90's in SanFrancisco. Back then if you saw a raver wearing colorful beads and bright clothes you knew they were handing out "sweets", thats why they called them candykids. The candy look became popular and everyone started wearing it, from there it spread from Cali across the country. Candykids sorta died down for awhile after that. But by the late 90's and early 2000's candy found a resurgence in popularity amongst the happyhardcore community. And thats the story.

and there only wearing all that cuse they think it makes them "fit in"
(trust me... everything youth releated is, image/soical group releated)
Where As Look At The Bottom Pic
see they look around 19 - early 20's... and the one on the left is ****ING HOT!!!
See... now spot the diffrence between the top and bottom...
and you'll see that its the bottom that makes a perfect "image" for a rave...

I don't know much about what liquid is but... no I don't think so. Have to say not many at UK raves really have routines and shiz everyone just dances however. There is a few patterns like that people seem to pick up on and dance in the same way but I don't think they'd have a name or out TBH. Never really thought about it before but I see what you mean about the cosplay.
@ SK8SIM. Yeah I see what you mean like but my mrs prob looks no older than them girls and shes 21 and been coming raving for 4 years now... As for the clothes... End of the day it's just clothes and clothes don't tell you much about what type of person someone is really.

i don't really see the difference that you're on about sk8sim...lol, because i mean they are wearing the same outfits/similiar outfits probably from the same company...and the top left pic, i reckon they're older than 18 - for sure. but eh, what does age matter anyways? some of em chics, may not be in tune with the latest tunes and releases but they go to raves. it doesn't mean that they're any less than a raver.

How can you make such a big assumption as that!!
For a start if you were going to a rave for the first time, you and all your mates would not dress like that, lol - thats about the only thing I can gather from these pix!
Yes a lot about raving may be the girls having fun dressing up, but are we forgetting about the music now?
Also I think to whole point of dressing like this, or indeed as a Kandi Kid is to look quite the opposite to mature - seems to show that you're out for a good time, the music, & don't give a f*k how crazy you look!

It does, however, mean you're more likely to know what you're talking about when it comes to parties & what people wear there, although this wasn't on topic anyway, this seems to have turned into a bitch fest!
