yeah i hate the "DDDDDJJ RANKIN IN THE MIXXX MUTTHHHHAA ****KKKAAAAA" *random annoying drum loop over cascada begins*
i lol'd pretty hard when i skimmed across a song by him supposedly and all it was was "DJ RANKIN YO" and then the original "I'm A Raver" or "Hardcore Feelings" (forget), and absolutely nothing was done to them at all

so true. you really need to buy urself some dj gear and then practice with that untill ur comftable, know how to mix (bpm sync, when to cue a track start end of a track ect) and then get urself a gig man. dont jump head in first man.
think spending around ~$300 on rather crappy gear would be a good to practice on while saving for the epic decks?

bahaha dats so true.
um i would suggest getting a cdj 800 and mabi a djm 400. mainly because most clubs use pioneer (usually 800 or 1000). plus their top notch gear will never fcuk up on you and easy to use i find.

DJM400 mixer kicks ass, I use that shit lol. Its a sick ass mixer for the price, but if you dont wana spend to much money, go with some Numark, and get like CDJ200's. Ive been using those for a while, so Ill be upgrading to 800's within the next few months.

personally, i'd say get a fairly cheap set up at first. while it might not sound like the best option, throwing your money away on a crappy set up that your just gonna have to replace, your full of confidence and excitement now, but there's always a chance you'll get your equipment find it all too difficult and frustrating and give up. if that happens and you've bought a cheap set up it's no big deal really, but if you've gone all out for your decks it's gonna be a major blow. just my opinion obviously, and i seem to be the minority, so it's up to you. whatever you do good luck, and don't you dare refer to DJ Rankin as a f*ckin artist again! )

All you need seriously is:
2 x Pioneer CDJ100's
1 x Pioneer DJM400/DJM600/DJM800 (which ever one floats ya boat)
1 x headphones
Don't think it's all about equipment, it's how you mix and shit that counts. But those things I listed above will get ya going for many months/years. :)

im probably sticking with getting sexy cdj800s/djm400 :]
it'll take about 7 weeks of flipping burgers @ McDonald's and selling crap for the money
OR
it'll take 4 days if I sell a kidney for about $10k on the black market
+this upcoming weekend i should hopefully get to play with some nice decks and learn some things from the owner :D
