ok, so he has no idea what he's doing yet. go easy on the poor kid - no one got it right on their first try. djing and hardcore isn't exactly wide spread over here to the point where you can go over to your friends and screw around, let alone cleveland
best advice i can give is to keep messing around. go listen to stuff that you like, then figure out how they did it and try to emulate it. if you can't figure out what is happening, ask questions. if you want to go on the production tip learn cubase or something, if you want to poke around with the djing stuff before you get your decks grab a copy of traktor.

you can't imagine how many ppl have asked me to dj at a party, just because i usually know what I'm talking about when I comment on mixes and discuss music.
ppl automaticly assume you spin as well.

What Milo said!
Everybody starts somewhere - I'm hardly fantastic at producing, mainly because I haven't put the time in, but the first program I started with was Total EJay. That gave me the kick start I needed to create some music and I then learnt the ropes and moved on. (some) people take me seriosuly these days.
A word to the wise though, its not really mixing. If anything it is bootlegging. And always give credit when you use somebody else's tune!
Keep practicing and don't let the grumpy gits here put you off ;-)

thanks for the back up milo :]
I'll take the flaming simply because I'm extemely new, and probably making an ass of my self with out realizing.
Figured putting a few songs together with a few effects was called mixxing; my bad. For all I know I'm an ass and have no idea what I'm calling my stuff and talking about.
Now would anyone want to possibly post up a link to efficient mixing with pioneer equipment? Would like to have a very good idea of what I'm doing before I get the gear, rather than spend weeks with the gear just figuring out what every pretty button does.
As of now all the knowlege I have of what everything on a mixer/cdjs do is from live mixing videos (Cotts, Ravine, etc).

@acidix: What do you mean by efficient mixing? If you want a full demo of the units I think ellaskins has them on youtube.
DJ AM:
That's some good shit there. Is he using 3 decks on a 2 channel mixer? o.O

I am happy to steer you in the right direction, but it's clear you were heading down the deep end.
What do you want to know?

your replies I found useful =P
Alright, so I am wondering is there any guide, video, anything on what basically everything does on an advanced deck, obviously for mixing. As of now I'm studying this Ellaskins guy until I get my equipment.
Overall I am asking, what the hell should I do before I get my desired DJ equipment? (it'll be around 2 months before I have the money saved)

couple of tips
try and save up for decks. at your age its difficult to do so when soon you need a car and your workin part time at pathetic pay and stuff and to be a dj is expensive. nonetheless keep saving
and just muck about with tracks but please please please post only the good serious ones.
slower mxing - you simply cut random tracks and glued em 2gether
try to merge them together so they flow more.
