Seen some discussing the terms "Black" and "African American". Labeling everyone of dark complexion an "African American" is just you making generalisations of their descent. Many more places than just Africa have coloured skin and you're just presuming they are.

Don't get me wrong, I would prefer the Democrats full stop every time. Breaking the Republican chain is the priority.

I agree, also refer to my post on sub-sections of American nationality. The strongest most powerful country in the world divided into far to many subcategories. The U.S. would do better looking at what unites them rather than the divisions. In McCain and Obama they have two candidates who suggest that vibe. Unfortunately like cricket playing Tories in the U.K., McCain offer a vision for an America that no longer exists but is more like 1950's ideal.
On this basis the Democrats could be braver however I do understand playing against McCain's vision is something that a lot of Americans like and would want to believe in, thus the selection of his V.P. running mate. To many times the Democrats have managed to beat themselves or had the Green vote do it. Gore cheated, Kerry instead of Edwards, even now, Obama has preacher issues muddying the waters and a running mate who used Neil Kinnock's speeches. At the end of the day its a conservative devil you know or an inexperienced opportunity. Either way many of the funding and pressure groups rule the day. However when ever dealing with political fringes I would take a militant left over a religious right. That is really America's issue to deal with, Two churches that are to large to accommodate all within them. Along with that the electoral college is not a sound system. Both Houses should be looking at this issue, instead like the UK with PR both of the largest parties know at some stage it will help them so keep it between themselves. Sadly for nearly the last ten years it has favored the Red over Blue.
