For me it's hit or miss. Sometimes I'll have a perfect experience. Everything works right and I'll be checked out in less than a minute, even with around 10 items. Sometimes the machine just hates me. :P

Never even seen a self checkout, by the sounds of it, its a system still in alpha stage? :p
They've been around for a while now. Guess not in Finland.

the states have the like everywhere, like any big store has them
at walmart them things bug out so bad, a lot of people steal cuz them things wigg and give you free things,
example: i went and had a pack of 50 blank cd's, some dodgy $20(us) headphones, some gum and a 4 gig usb flash drive.
it should of came out to be like $53(us), but it said it was only $23(us) and that was for the gum and phones, i went to the person that looks after them and said it was paid for and i got out there with like $30(us) of free stuff
lol

A real man must drink Foster's VB (otherwise known as Victoria Bitter).
But seriously. If you like life dont touch it.
Here in Oz there are a few self service - to my knowledge. Works really well if you dont have your typical mid life crisis or those who never made it past 2nd grade
