Dont like the way AATW artists have remixes on a Bonkers album... Does that mean the likes of Alex K & Scooter will be remixing various hardcore tunes? This is all madness!

But its ok for other labels/artists to have remixes on bonkers?
aatw owns bonkers therefore like the xtreme series will be aimed at the clubland market hence the rebrand. Some people need to get a grip and move on

Mate, you don't know shit about the album yet. In fact, past experience would show that this album might actually BE good.
Hixxy's mixes on bonkers have been on the commercial side for a while - but there's usually something decent in there. Sharkey is... well... who the **** is going to be disappointed by sharkey's mix? You cant really tell with unknown coz sy& unknown release some SHIT tracks, and some good ones.
But you dont even know the tracklist yet, let alone have heard clips.
From this present point - AATW has NOT killed bonkers!!
Now can everyone PLEASE shut the **** up about it until we get a tracklist and/or clips? Jesus-****ing-christ you people complaining don't know ANYTHING yet. You're jumping to conclusions, assuming you know what's gonna happen. You don't. Stop pretending you do.
All this argument about them 'wanting to line their pockets' and 'being about the money' to me proves that they would keep to the original bonkers style. Everyone seems to forget that bonkers sold well - why fix what isnt broken? A business knows that.

okay, for the learning impaired, i'll sum up what i said
1) You don't know shit about the album's content.
2) Past experience would show that this album could actually be pretty good because:
2-a) Hixxy has been commercial for a while but on bonkers theres usually something good
2-b) Sharkey has always been good no matter where his mixes are
3) You don't know a tracklist, nor have you heard clips - but you're complaining already
4) If you haven't heard any content - how can you make the statement that AATW have killed bonkers?
5) AATW (Because i'ts an efficient business) would know that there is no point taking bonkers and turning it into clubland. Bonkers already sold well - why would they change a model that's successful already?
I'd LOVE you to prove to me how that wasn't a "proper" reply.
You just don't have anything to say back.
I want the cartoons :)

they didnt screw up the cover of HTID that much...
that said there were just as many people annoyed when they change the cartoons the first time around...then eventually for some reason they changed back to the cartoons (aparently one of the DJ's that are influential in the Bonkers album, put the smackdown and got paul garner back to do the graphics)

I prefer the aatw htid cover. Much better than the original 1st 2

covers change naturally...
new effects and styles come into fashion..
that doesnt mean they should ditch the cartoon's..
:P sharkey would totally pull the pollard on them!

How do you know it will be aimed specifically at the clubland market?!
I think it will be highly unlikely that there there will be remixes from Alex K and Scooter. I wouldn't think Hixxy or Chris Unknown would select tunes by them for their mixes anyway and I don't think AATW could tell them to include a particular tune or could they?.

Just think about it... so maybe there won't be cartoons but that's nothing to whine about. Whining about what's on the box is so childish. Why do the cartoons matter? What if Bonkers 18 came out in a black box that just said on the front 'Bonkers,' because to be honest with you I would be judging it based on what is in the box and not is what on the box.
Now, about the mixes - people slag Hixxy off too much. His Bonkers mixes have always been on the more commercial side, as it has been said in this thread before, but they have never ever been bad. I mean just look at his Bonkers 15 mix. It was absolutely epic, with tunes like Frantic & Resist's Spending My Time and Heaven-7's Dance Me, to name two great tracks off an absolutely epic mix.
Even if they force Sharkey to play one or two AATW songs, he will be doing freeform. He is Sharkey after all. We can all agree that this is the person AATW has the least influence over, and you guys are considering him a Saint. To be honest I agree that he could be the glue holding this new Bonkers together but I am expecting great things from Hixxy too.
Unknown is doing a Quosh mix, apparently. I can't say no to that, as I love most Quosh releases!
So stop bitching - it's not going to be as bad as you think just because AATW bought the rights.

I contacted you a few years ago about the Bonkers CD cover art you did, and if my mind serves me correctly I managed to get you in to some trouble over the star wars theme (my deepest apologies there). I have only a small question, I was wondering if you had been approached about the latest Bonkers CD, that is due to be released in May this year. Alot of us were wondering whether you would be doing the artwork for it again?
Every time a new bonkers is released we always look forward to the cartoony artwork you magic up, and this latest one we heard recently that AATW (the company that bought the Bonkers series) have decided to ditch the cartoons! A fact none of us are best pleased with ..
but never the less, we all still wonder whether you will be doing the artwork?
Which is our big question...if you are allowed to answer that!? ļ

I have edited the rest of the email, as im sure paul doesnt want it spread across the net.
hopefully this should give everyone a little more clarity on the situation, im saddened to hear paul didnt get his overdue payment - most everybody loved his artwork and made Bonkers standout as a series compared to all the other albums so personally, and im sure i speak for lots of others - its a killer not have him doing another cover.
paul is a really good guy and from what i get from his email - he wouldnt be doing another bonkers cover.

I second all of that.
Plus, the artwork for bonkers 9, 10, 11 and 15 were all a great alternative to the usual caricaturisations, so I hope AATW continue to explore the more futuristic and realistic style.

From what most people are saying I cant understand why AATW would buy the rights to bonkers if they want to restart the number and remove the theme to drive the success from their clubland brand. You wont get too many of the clubland boys buying bonkers so surely we were always their target audience? So why drive us away? Seems pointless them buying the bonkers brand if their going after a different audience, might as well made a new brand; BerserKz!? Who knows!?
For me its not that big of an issue unless they slap half naked girls on the front or the clubland brand all over it, that will just offend me.
I'm more concerned about the tracks to be honest, well if you think this is all bad then just imagine what TV add their going to do for this. They will more than likely have and use the same team for all the add campaigns; woah its going to be bad!
