i havent bought a *new* piece of hardcore on vinyl in years, maybe since...2005?
doesnt seem any point. i buy older hardcore 1994 - 2004 off ebay and thats about it
i tend to think of it like HD and BluRay
newer stuff i will eventually get on mp3, but anything from the era said before, vinyl :)
i guess looking at it - if a song is good enough to warrent buying it on vinyl, then i will buy it...but yeah...havent bought any hardcore new since 2005...i guess that says somthing ;)

I find some good tracks here and there, and I am liking the majority of HTID, but I do get what you are saying. I miss the raw drums, the snare drum rolls, the chipmunky vocals, lyrics about stars, the moon, the rainbow, the sun. I miss the funny noises and the ear-splitting grinding sound used as a melody, like in Edit V's "Music Is Moving" and DJ Vibes' "Hardcore Business".
2 fantastic tunes they are
But do you know what I am talking about, that scraping sound used as the melody? I looove that.
Yes i know what ya mean

Anybody else feel this way?
I don't know. I think that the smaller and underground producers and labels are still pumping out the good stuff. You have to remember, the big labels are only in it for the cash and will put out whatever will sell, not actual quality tunes. Let's face it: the likes of HTID and Clubland are now more pop than hardcore and really aren't a great representation of the genre as a whole.

I don't get it, really. Yes, a lot of tracks sound very similar. Yes, the same noises and structure pervades a lot of it. This was *also* true in the 90s, when about 5 engineers were actually writing UK Hardcore, and indeed I preferred the overall "sound" then.
However, we're actually putting out albums that contain:
Breakbeat, purist freeform, commercialcore, retro ravey stuff, gabba..... often on a single CD. It certainly doesn't all sound the same.
Now, I'm a 90s evangalist as much as anyone, and I don't think the wider scene is doing anything like enough to capitalise on what is already around let alone encouraging more. This all said there isn't actually a single UK Hardcore album from 93-02 that has even CLOSE to the level of diversity within HU4. Not. Even. Close.
If you've lost interest, that's absolute fine and arguably natural irrespective of what is happening with the music at any rate. It's still a bit much to claim everything past 2005 is crap, primarily coz it makes CDJay cry.
