Finally managed to start listening to mine today. Pity my brothers dog got hold of it before me but that's another story!
Listened to the first 2 discs so far, do you want the good news or the bad news?
In an attempt to counter some of the most extreme arse licking i've ever had the displeasure to witness, here's my honest and critical opinion of what i've heard so far.
Fracus & Darwin's mix
Within about 90 seconds of pressing play I got an immense feeling of dread!
The first track 'You are my oxygen' has to be one of the weakest opening tracks i've ever heard! Nothing particularly offensive but really don't like it even after a few plays. 2nd track should be better, bit of Stormtrooper......and that's a bit weak too. Oh dear, this is going to be shite! And great news (not), a remix of an old tune to follow! FEAR NOT! The remix of 'My own' is a beast. And i'm pleased to say the improvement continued pretty much through the whole mix. Stand out tunes for me
Dangerzone
I know where i stand (Euphoric being the appropriate word)
Rivers flow in you (Gorgeous)
Nothing there (Just WOW)
Takes me higher (Yummy)
Realms and rough cuts (So much packed in)
So, overall pretty damn good.
Brisk & Marc Smith's mix
Again, seemed to start off pretty weakly - The original of Eternity is a big favourite of mine, not so much this new version. And that doesn't mean i'm just blindly against remixes cos i love the new versions of On and on & Now is the time (which is more of an update than a remix).
For me, the mix didn't really get going until track 5 but when it got going it took off!
Hookie mammoth is a tune and a half. Epic riff, Higher functions, Phunk'd (showing Stormtrooper still has the touch), Daybreaker, and everything from Track 18 onwards all top quality tracks. Again, a very good mix (eventually).
First impressions are that while appearing a bit more commercial in parts than HU3
it's actually taking longer to warm to HU4. I hope this means it'll have the lasting appeal i'm hoping for.
If the other 2 CD's are this good (as i suspect they will be) i'll be awarding at least an 8/10.

The packaging might be fantastic and all that, but i just broke CD3 getting it out of the case!
To say i'm not pleased might well be my understatement of the year.

Jon's just alerted me to yet another person suffering a broken CD. I don't know exactly what the deal is here and whether its just a few unlucky cases (npi) or what, but if you encounter such a problem please drop us an email and we'll do what we can to sort out. Just remember that with new star trays the first time you take a CD off them, you do need to press down on the star itself whilst gently lifting the CD edge. Might seem obvious, but I can see how it'd be easy to snap a CD first time around if it was done too quickly.

i noticed this. the central piece where it hold the cd in place clips in so tightly, you cant get it out (unless ur careful)

I was shitting myself when taking the CDs out for the first time. Does seem very tight even when using proper technique ;). Luckily mine are all intact and ripped to my PC so they shan't be coming out of their cases too much.

the problem is when someone lifts one side of the disc up to get out it bends , solution is to get both ends of the disc and take it out like that , easier . I have noticed though if you hold one side of the disc it does tend to bend easily , there fore putting a crack in it.

Mine is a different story... The Al Storm & Kutski CD was glued to the plastic tray by a drop of transparent plastic glue, probably meant for the packaging itself... I really had nothing to do with it! The cd surface is pretty messed up now... I'll send an e-mail to see if anything can be done!
***Already sorted! :D

i had problems trying to get my cds out as well,i had a very close call with one of the cds(and i,m near sure it was 3)when it wouldn,t come out and the cd was starting to bend quite badly but i stoped trying and after another few trys i managed to get it out unscathed
