I heard about Al Storm winning breakthrough, even though hes been around for well over 10 years lol. Some kind of recognition i spose though :)

i think the awards are a people's choice awards...which as far as i can see the purpose is to see what artist is most popular? and as such no one can complain about results, even if you have a misguided opinion of people who listen to hardcore.
if you dont agree with the format that's one thing, but you can never deny results from a large poll...unless of course you accuse someone of tampering.
if you want to see an awards show that is aimed at recognizing individual achievement, contributions, and hardwork, where you have a pannel of artists and people involved in hardcore, for instance reprisentatives from major promotions companies in UK, producers, DJ's, and dare i say maybe an (yes just one) MC? ect. and had them all cast ballots on all the categories, as well as have a list of 5 parties that the pannel must attend that year for best party, same with venues. oh and have the general public vote and the winner of each category from public vote gets one vote to their name...ish
then you can have an 'Grammy's' of hardcore, where i woud think the out come would be closer to who and what actually desrve the awards. although i think id would get super political fast and the people in control of voting would have to change at least slightly each year.
