Yeah, that rocks!
But famous producers are ones who make it for money! And in the best case we can get only mild popularity although some of us are 10x better.
You need help of famous people 2 get really popular (like being added to famous sets) but I guess they respect you only according to how rich you are! Not everyone but many.
Oh, and many people listen to songs only cuz theyre trendy. Such bulls**t! I guess not many girls actually like Lady Gaga stuff, but listen 2 them cuz theyre "trendy"!
I know people here who liked HC but dont listen 2 it cuz its not "trendy" in this country!

So what's the problem? piracy? Hard2Get answered that (dishonest people).
I think the problems you have is that you make music that attracts people who doesn't care if they buy it or not.
yep. i make hardcore.
im not an isolated incident guys. hardcore takes the piss for filesharing. It really does take the piss.
Samination, the only explanation i have for that release (cd?) not being fileshared is that ive never personally heard of thumpa. I bet a lot of other people havent as well. So in general people probably just dont know about it.

I would say what's more likely is that everyone is waiting for someone else to buy it first. And yeah I agree about the taking the piss thing, especially when you consider how many free tracks are given out left right and centre and how interactive and personal so many DJs and producers are with the ravers and the fans I dunno how people can just fileshare en masse without at least feeling even a tinge of guilt.

I'm a little torn hear. I can't tell if the OP was referring to big names that are already signed, or young, aspiring producers that are still learning the ropes of the whole production thing. I hope to god it's not the latter, because everyone wants a change in the hardcore scene, (not everyone, but it seems most do) but yet if you bash the up and comers because let's be honest, nobody is going to have that perfect track their first time, it would discourage anyone from trying to make a difference. And posting it online (on such sights like this or soundcloud or youtube, etc.) is a way to get feedback and critisism and actually learn to become better producers. If that could be cleared up, I might feel a whole lot better about the direction of this thread.

I think the downfall of vinyl has effected it, producers had to atlast have one buyable track out of the 2-4 songs placed on the record.

According to London Elekricity, last year vinyl was sold more worldwide than any other format including digital.

most of those people are all aspiring to the same sound, much like girls and supermodels
I think this post sums up nicely as to who's truly "wasting our time".

Thumpa actually didn't make a track on the CD, but Alek Szahala, Ponder, Nightforce, Endemic, Lost Soul, Oli G and Gammer did. And he supposedly sold 90% of the pressed CDs within a month of pre-orders. so yea, he's not that known.
And if you dont know him, you dont check these forums properly since he advertised it at least 3 times on here and USH.
90% of 200 CD sold, and no copies online. That's alot more than the few MP3 someone mentioned before it got pirated. Either someone's doing it wrong or no one likes Gammer :P

dont you think I did a google search myself before saying that? :)
No, if you checked the urls properly you'd see that they are fakes. You could propably download them, but their either *.EXE files or password protected *.RAR files, or you need to register to download.
If I had found any legitimate ******* I wouldn't have said it.

Poor old Thumpa ;) Tbh, if he sold all his pressed copies, his mission is fulfilled... Not like hes losing money from filesharing if he didnt plan to release/sell more copies..

Looking it up though I can see that it's a compilation CD with full length versions on it, so I am inclined to believe that people would just illegally download the individual tracks if they were that bothered.
