course its a feature. If hardcore was any slower it'd be hard dance or something.
why would it ? iv got some hardcore tunes that are 120 BPM & some that are 200+ BPM (& no they aint house or gabber tunes). im not saying that most hardcore isint around the same BPM, im just saying that things dont always confirm to the same formula & that you cant define a style of music just from its BPM.
I think your wrong, but I cant be assed to explain myself.
Wouldnt mind knowing about what hardcore tracks are 120 tho
their some old breakbeat hardcore tunes mate.

If it isn't 4/4 beat, then it's either DnB or Breakbeat Hardcore.
If it's heavily based on another style, or pretty much just that genre sped up to hardcore speeds, then just add -core to the genre name (trancecore, Housecore, hardstylecore, etc.).
That's how I've simplified it. And it's probably wrong.
And if Hardstylescapecore becomes a genre I want to be credited as the person who came up with the name.
again 4/4 beat doesnt mean its hardcore all of The Prodigy's early tunes were hardcore but werent 4/4 things evolve & change.

actually it didnt it came from acid & chicago house, when the jungle scene came along it split from hardcore as many hardcore heads found it too dark.

also technically 4/4 is a time signature most breakbeat is also written in 4/4 if you want to be perdantic, most dance music is to be honest :P

Yeah i always find it amusing when people say that as if all breakbeat isn't 4x4 :P Only genre that isn't (that's popular) is Dubstep.
