Would it be too much of a controversial opinion if I said I didn't really want Bonkers to return?
I think there are definitely pros to it coming back but I think Bonkers is a chapter of Hardcore best left in the past, I think we need to stop trying to dig up the past and concentrate on making something new instead. I don't really wanna see a 'Bonkers vs Clubland war' which is no doubt what would happen in the end. I don't want "X vs Y vs Z" I'd rather have "X or Y or Z"
As for the zonkers thing, I never followed that drama really and instead caught bits and pieces of information, some was a bit shocking and some downright amusing. But the idea in concept I don't think was that bad, the way I saw Zonkers was just as an amusing parody of Bonkers in an attempt to breathe a bit of life into the Hardcore scene; I don't think the initial intentions were bad, but the execution was awful.

Sad to hear myself saying this but i couldn't care less what happens to Bonkers.
If it did return, it'd be in name only - and that would be as pointless as a lorry full of broken pencils.

I wonder who exactly does hold the rights now - and those rights might be exactly.
If they went back to Resist after the single AATW effort, and Resist subsequently went into administration - that could mean that the "rights" simply don't exist any more?
Disclaimer: Wasn't my original plan to post a serious response, but I couldn't think of any pencil gags :-(

I think it should be left as it is, why spoil the series by releasing a new album filled with the minimalist electro stuff, that wasn't the original intention of bonkers. Bonkers was intended as fun, not to "Smack you like a bitch".

Oh, this is painful.
You may want to tone it down a Bic.

my guess is if the series was ever trademarked, patented, or the BONKERS name with that exact font copyrighted, they hold the only rights to anything Bonkers-like. If no one does, then might be a good idea for someone to do so for future use or so no one else can use it.
although, this is strictly US copyright/trademark standards. Out of curiosity, what does it mean when something goes into administration? Is that like bankruptcy?

AATW bonkers came out after Resist went bankrupt, they more than likely licensed it from the previous owners of the company.

I agree with Neko. Bonkers is a part of Hardcore history. It served it's purpose and ended with a bang (#17). Honestly, I think the Hardcore Underground series is the only thing to come as close to what Bonkers did, and I really hope CDJay is able to continue this series, but Bonkers has big shoes that cannot 'easily' be filled, and that's what's great about the Hardcore Underground series: It's not trying to replicate the Bonkers magic, but is taking the underground sound that is present now and is moving forward by showcasing it to the masses in a whole new entity. If another Bonkers WERE to be made, I think it should be given to the original 3 of the series to mix (even though Sharkey is gone, they could easily give the third mix to Vibes or Sy), and it should definitely be old skool choons only.
