Ok, here is your chance to write something positive, if you wanted to put together an x-treme hardcore album:
1. Who would DJ it?
2. What sort of track and styles would you put on the album?
3. Why would it be viable? (ie. what are the sales points of the album)*
*No one is going to release an album that loses thousands or millions of pounds so what makes people interested in checking it out / buying it :)
Seems people on the site know what is best for hardcore, I want to hear from the members if they released their own album.
On this thread if you are not constructive your post will be removed, trying to keep it as informative as possible :) Keep it orderly people :)

Why make a commercially viable album in the first place? No need to constantly have the music in the commercial eye IMO. If the genre isn't commercial you just have to wait until it is again, not try and change it to keep up with imaginary standards.
Nothing against anyone doing it, but if it can't be done there's no need to try and change the music for it. Let the music progress through underground labels from the ravers themselves, I don't see the big names on the dancefloor.

Attempting to find out what the users really want to hear because the site is viewed by all the artists and label owners...

As far as djs go I honestly think it should be kept as is. Although it would be interesting to do a b2b thing like bonkers 15 and onwards (except aatw bonkers). So maybe breeze & styles, dougal and Gammer, and hixxy & recon.
Honestly they pushed too much electro/dub style of hardcore too much it just overwhelmed people. They should have mixed it up with some moew traditional cxh style hardcore.
I know some people will disagree with keeping the original djs in the series, but honestly it isn't really a CXH album without Hixxy, DS and Breeze, just like HU would not be the same without Darwin and Fracus, and Bonkers without Sharkey.

would like to see people some new faces dj wise. wouldn't mind having 1 dj playing your typical uk hardcore set and another all over the place varying in both styles and bpm (kutski/luna-c ish)
maybe have a 3rd set with nothing but unknown producers?

Style: The 'happier' side of UK Hardcore (no breaks, electro, or dub step) that Brisk can do (when he wants), along with some Lethal Theory material, and a bpm of 180+.
Point of Sales: More underground-ish, but with a TV ad.
I think Brisk is one of the top creative minds when it comes to preparing a tracklist (when he has full choice, not with Fracus or Darwin...they seem to slow him down).

Really I think it's difficult to tell, my first issue would be if people want dubstep - they will listen to dubstep...same with electro. I could give you my personal clubland 'dream team' but as for point of sales...well, why do we need one? If they just observed the scene a bit more they would have tried to gather back the fans they lost when they stopped doing the vocal cheese. It's not like there's a constant race to change your style.
Nobody really takes clubland that seriously, they can do all kinds of repetitive shit and people will just roll their eyes and say 'That's clubland'. If you honestly wanted your new underground experimental music to get recognition you should release it independantly, much like if you wanted to be a the singer of a rock band you wouldn't go on X-Factor because of the image it portrays. The kids want to rave; they want to feel a part of something underground, not something mass produced and churned out. That's why clubland hardcore doesn't work with new ravers, the title itself is an oxymoron in their eyes. If the albums showed lots of rave imagery and was called something with "rave" in the title, people would be far more attracted to it, even if it was still distributed by clubland.
How on earth did we get back to this again. Anyway, my personal dream team (that wouldn't please anyone but myself) would be Dougal Gammer/ Sy/Unkown Styles/Hixxy

Dain-Ja (in Touch my Deck / Crank my Knob style) & Cotts & Ravine

The happy bouncy stuff that these DJs are known to play. Look at the track listings of Hardcore Addiction / Touch My Deck / Crank My Knob. Look for the up to date songs from these artists
3. Why would it be viable? (ie. what are the sales points of the album)*
I think with this line-up you would be getting a good cross section of the scene from these DJs rather than artist showcases. From Dain-Ja I would be looking to see 25-30 tracks that he has edited down and then mixed, 80 mins of non-stop awesomeness and then from Cotts & Ravine, a nice happy fun bouncy CD, like their Youtube mixes and HA CDs. Also, these guys mix live better than most of the current commercial albums & big names mix on a computer

I wouldn't change a thing - its clubland - its there to cater for a certain style of hardcore, it might not be my style, but its someone elses, and it fits in with the "clubland" series.

I think that as someone said it wouldn't be Clubland X-treme without these guys!!
These albums work, it's the best selling hardcore compilation and thats for a reason.
Thought it was a nice idea adding Re-con this year, Only thing I was dissapointed about as i said in another post was the amount of tracks that was already released on other albums. I think styles had 1 track on his, hixxy had a couple on his & i think breeze had about 7 on his, i understand why he done that as he is pusing this sound to the buyers who more than likely didn't buy P&M - Our Sound. but for the ones that did I just maybe would have liked some of P&M's new stuff (cuz i think they play 1 or 2 tracks from the album in their sets. Everything else is new tracks.)
Apart from that wouldn't change a thing, love the series, love the new sound and that is my opinion!

cd2:uk hardcore bouncy piano filled tunes
cd3:full on vocal uk hardcore
cd4:freeform
cd5:dirty electro style into a gabber finish
3.enough big names to catch your eyes plus it covers most versions of "hardcore" each of these producers/djs excell in each style of hardcore that they have been chosen for:)
if either cd 2 or 3's djs couldnt do it id have recon&squad-e (loving alot of the twista stuff at the mo)

Exactly what HU is doing. different discs showcasing different styles. I'd Have Endemic Vs Lost Soul (now there's a B2B I'd love to hear :P) doing Freeform, CLSM doing Breakbeat, Gammer Vs Joey Riot or Kurt doing UK and Evil Activities Vs The Viper doing Gabber. I think the mix of styles makes it financially viable, people into different sounds would all have a listen, and maybe get into a style they weren't into before.
