I live too close to Bournemouth, one known as a quiet resort for the rich and snobby (Only two train stations out of 5 left) now a haven for larger louts looking to pick fights with the weak and well behaved. Raves are now night clubs full of kids who are underage sneaking in through the back to see their heros such as Darren Styles and MC Storm who they (the girls) fancey and love the 'UK' sounds and remixes of the RnB favorates.

Also most of my friends don't like Hardcore much so I would be a loner unless I hooked up with some chavs I know who think I speak posh and try to steel my CDs I brough with my hard earn't cash. Also I get bored in night clubs and then go home to sleep. I'm a day creature so listen to Hardcore by day- not at night.

With my CDs I can listen to what I want- so i'm my own DJ and sometimes, by myslef I MC thinking of a better place. There is noware better to listen to Hardcore than at the front of the 151 bus going through the posh areas (mostly odl people live here so they don't come upstairs to tell me to turn my music down) and dream of being someware better, back in 1996 with my ex (who i'm getting along very well with at the moment) and live in betetr times away from pain and fear!

Who needs a rave when you ahve your favorate CD and you personal CD player!

Your thoughs on such a topic?

Spot on! I enjoy listening to hardcore anywhere but you can hardly have a stomp on a bus now can you.

Evel - If you actually went to a rave you might be surprised!

ME

i agree with you in some ways i dont really go raving for the music that much, just cos i love the socialising and get to see mates i dont see anywhere else aswell as my usual crew.

Some raves i'll go just cossa one dj, like when i saw marc smith was doing a rez set the other week in london. I like getting wrecked though so i can quite happily spend hours in chillout rooms waffling away to people, thats the main part i love about raving.

I dont go to the big raves anymore just cos i find the atmosphere shit, will go if theres a good techno/gabber room though as your guaranteed a wild night.

Your argument about styles and storm is such a lotta shit though mate, there hardly booked at every rave up and down the country. And if you dont like them theres normally at least 2 rooms so why not just go in the other one.

Also your argument about chavs ( hate that word) is bollocks aswell. Aye you get a few dicks at raves but if you cant handle that god help you in this world cos you'll be eaten alive.

I go out all the time, have done for 5/6 years and have had so little trouble while enjoying raves its unbelievable, its hardly garage or grime we're talking about here. If someone gives you shit crack them til they no better about it, and if anyone tries to steal from you same goes there not your mates.

But ravings defo not for everyone, a couple people off this site i took out for there first time found it really intimidating so if you prefer just listening to tunes then thats what you should do my friend. But i do think if you went out you'd realise theres so much more to todays hardcore than you think there is.

I'm pretty sure i'll give up raving before i give up on the dj'ing cos my love for music goes far beyond my love of raving. But i hate clubbing and certain raves i've found are exactly what i need when i want a social.

can get as messy as you want, hear good tunes, have a laff with new people and mates you no, lie about on couch's, have a joint

basically much more fun than you can have in town

Absolutely spot on Baldo - looking forward to talking codshit with you soon

And I can also speak for the local area events! If you want to avoid the kiddies go to the more underground events like Destiny, Oblivion, the boat parties or the summer cliff raves - good music and good people - no shit - just people wanting to have a good time!!!

Saying that I have NEVER seen any trouble at the Hardcore Heaven events at the Opera House anyway - just more commercial than the others I mentioned.

I hate bedroom ravers

Kat

ive been thinking your a **** these past few weeks with all your pointless posts, the way you never shut up about your ex gf finding some bigger cock and your pointless name change. However that statement has confirmed it.

who needs a rave when you have cd's???

equal to saying who needs birds when you can have a wank, the two dont compare at all.

1996 is in the past.

Nostalgia is appealing because it's gone, it can't hurt you.

Somebody hold this boy's hand and take him to a rave.

agree with that mate, i think the same people that moan about it not being like 96 would've moaned back then cos it's not 92 or 89 or whatever.

I defo see this in evel with the constant posts about scallies and whatever, he'd be just as insecure about going out then as he is now.

On the other hand though i defo understand why some people dont like raves, i've took breaks before and can only handle doing it a couple times a month at the best of times. Aswell as being a shit hot night they drain the f*ck out you at times.

Other mates of mine do it every weekend sometimes both nights and stay perfectly sane, would drive me mad and weird if i didnt get time to chill out aswell.

A lot of the people who'll give others grief for not going out are hardly ever at raves themselfs so i dont really get there point, it's not a competition about who's the most hardcore its just a night out ffs.

Practically all my original raving crew have packed it in now for one reason, they've gave up the sweets. If your used to getting wrecked in raves and then suddenly your body or mind tells you to stop a raves hardly the best place to socialise with the temptation all about you.

People who rave straight are legends and prooves how much they love it, i can do small local nights without anything to help but for an allnighter plus travel i seriously wouldnt have the energy.

Apart from the constant misguided posts about things evels actually a safe wee guy, aye it's weird wafflin shit about magic and never shutting up about the same things but theres no badness in him.

@kat hell yeah buddy be good to get to no you proper, will defo be doin some chillin at htid between stompin down the hard room

Totally agree with you mate.

....and Evel/Smoogie, Kat's told you where to go. Give it a shot, stay off the 'sweets' and meet some people.

I meet people here, one reason why I come here as everyone here seems to be into Hardcore, be it old skool/ new skool, freeform, gabba/gabber ect. I don't need to go to raves to meet people when I can do it in the comfort of my dining room or the college coimputers when they work. Sometimes I listen to Hardcore at the same time or i'm totally pissed.

And going on about the same thing, thats Asperger's Syndrome for you so I rather come here to 'rant' than do it in front of people who would think i'm insane!
